Good, that'll make it easier for me to report them and rid this site of them.
I'm not the one in the wrong here. Trolling is wrong.

Whatever Curl. I see this thread as you just stirring shit up for the sake of it. Like, you were impressed by something in that game, for some reason, and feel like you have to rub something in the face of some people... Even though it was very well explained by Tachi how your enthusiasm was misplaced, since there isn't much technically intensive in that game... In any case, I don't see how you're helping the Wii U's case with a thread that was basically created to call out some trolls that we haven't heard of in weeks over an issue that isn't existant to begin with.

So what, I should just avoid certain legit topics altogether just because there might be people out there without the self-control not be be jerks about it? It's not my problem if they can't be mature about it, I'm not going to avoid talking about topics that interest me just cos it might inflame the haters.
Is it asking too much for a civil discussion? Here, on VGChartz, I don't think so.

What I'm claiming is that the myths about it just being 3 Wii CPUs taped together are just that, myths. |
Of course it is. That's not how CPU's generally work. Especially not from one cycle to the next cycle.
However, neither you nor I know what the true performance is since real bencharks, like the kinds we have on PCs, are ever run on consoles, we can't know necessarily if the Wii U is 3x or more or less than what was on the Wii.
Either way, I have never really understood why people care about specific performance rather than the general performace. Or, hell, the actuall _freaking_ games themselves.

Given that core count alone is three times, before we even take into the higher clock speed and a 12-fold increase in L2 cache, it's almost certain that it's significantly more than just 3 times stronger when all is said and done. You're right, we don't know the exact performance, but we can estimate.
And some people just find this stuff interesting, I guess.
*sigh*...
Discussions of the Wii U's power always get ugly, always.
... The Wii U's CPU is fairly capable, though, despite its lack of "cores/threads". Gauging the tech in the Wii U against the other current gen twins, core-for-core the Wii U's are likely more efficient being PPC, but since the twins have twice as many cores for games (six vs three), there's still more CPU power in them than the Wii U for games.
If anything, the Wii U's CPU would need to double its clockspeed to compete (which is not possible), but even then, it doesn't work quite like that, and 6 threads is still better at multi-tasking than 3. Wii U's cores are more powerful by way of efficiency, but there's not enough of them to make up the difference of the twins having twice as many.
The game is fun and it looks nice but in a head to head comparison, I'd even say it was inferior to 2005''s Kameo. Still enjoying it but it's not the game to use when discussing Nintendo power!

Playing it more and more, I think the game is a ton of fun--but waaaaaaay less impressive graphically than games like Ninety Nine Nights and other games of this style. It looks better on the Wii U gamepad but it isn't impressive graphically by a long shot (Unless you're talking about Cia's boobs.).

I agree, it's not graphically impressive at all.
