Not that it's going to be good.

I don't think making the party members 5 dudes, is bad, especially since there are still girls in the story that are important. JRPG's (or WRPG's in recent years) haven't really done this, and pretty much always have the same set of archetypes and gender ratio's.

The characters have to be good and that remains to be seen. The combat has always been a bit worrisome, to me. His description sort of makes it sound sort of like how Batman or sleeping dogs is (IE contextual and fluid, as opposed to Bayonetta, or DmC which is fluid but not contextual), but we'll have to see.

Also, I know Tabata doesn't write the stories. But the stories direction of his two games (Type 0 and Crisis Core) are pretty much the best delivered stories SE has done (Not including Deus Ex) in the last ten years in my opinion.

Two words: 3rd Birthday.

Just because Tabita has shown he is competent doesn't mean this game can't go down horribly. The man was at the helm when one of my favorite franchises sank (Parasite Eve). Even though I don't necessarily blame him for it with all the licensing and writing nightmares PE had with the original novel, I'm still far from trusting.

All male characters? Eh, whatever. I'm not going to set S-E with an equal gender quota, and I'm fine with playing all male characters. I'm fine with all female characters. I'm fine with anything if it's good. And let's face it; if XV does well--or even OK--we're probably going to see XV-2. Anyone hoping for an all female cast built around Agni's Philosophy? It's a long shot, but I can see it happening.

That said, I suspect the exabytes of female FF character porn out there on the net factored into this somewhere...
