So toasty thinks that PS4 will have 18 million units sold, so another 8 Million in 1 1/2 months? wtf.

Yeah, sure, Wii U won't sell another 5-6 million, when PS4 will have max 13 mil at Novem. the 15th.

what de heck is wrong with this panda o.o

So you really think PS4 will sell only 2 million units max in another 2 months? Lol you really don't know what kind of a boost PS4 sales will get in the holidays, especially with its lineup for the next 2 months.

It is much much more likely than 8 fucking million.

And there is no game that has such hype as destiny had. Games with hype, but not nearly as much as destiny.

Yeah but it doesn't need to sell 8 million units to reach 18 million. Its at 11 million units now. Do the maths.

Also Destiny hype was heavily divided between multiple systems, and was quite anticipated by Xbox gamers due to being a Bungie game. That won't be the case for some games coming out. Besides a lot of the FPS crowd is already on PS4. But many of the games coming in the next 2 months cater to different audiences, and so should boost sales a lot. Add the holiday sales boost and selling over 2 million looks like an easy task IMO.

Bahahahahaha! No.

Not given that it's only got about six or seven weeks before it hits that one-year mark. And, as far as I'm aware, Destiny was the biggest release it had left in that period (actually, I think it's the biggest release PS4 had slated for the rest of 2014). PS4 sales will pick up during the holiday period, but will mostly be a part of its second year. I'm expecting the next few weeks will see it drop down to around 150-200k per week again.

So basically, PS4 looks like it's set to have around 12 million sales in its first year (give or take). Wii U will likely start closing in on that mark some time early or mid-2015. Maybe even later this year, if it has a strong holiday period, which is possible.

It actually has eight weeks left, with many more releases than during most of the year aimed at different genres. Also it will have two weeks of holiday sales. So it will definitely sell a lot more than 12 million by that time, but won't outsell Wii U lifetime sales.

It will in it's peak year, not sure if that's gonna be 2014 though.
