I can only imagine how much money that would cost them to do... Yeah, not gonna happen.
Estelle and Adol... best characters ever! XD

I can happen... big difference between now and then is Broadband penetration (:-o)). In the PS2 era, it simply was not all that high and had many users still using dial-up. Technology and infrastructure have changed a lot over 14-15 years (the TV stuff I am talking about) They have the a movie studio and tv to help push this and they are friendly with other studios so if anyone could push the TV thing they could.
This could lead into something bigger, MS I don't feel is going to want to spend the money to make X-box the brand it could be... they tried. The Xbox division is not core to what MS is trying to do and they would rather focus on Mobile (a sector they have been trying for since the early days of Windows CE). They WANT mobile to be part of the core bussiness, they don't really care if gaming is or not.
So it could, but in the more adult gaming segment. Nintendo will always be around not many see them as a competitor to Sony or MS because they go after a different part of the market.
I don't want that. I want SCE and all of it's studios to stay focused on games and game-enriching features. If SONY Pictures or whom ever want to do the grunt work in getting some entertainment apps on the PS4, that's fine. I don't want this to take up resources from SCE.
4 ≈ One
Highly doubt it

If he means dominance in the PS2 style... I believe PS4 could reach above 65% marketshare and have about all the games that matter being released for it (but that would be similar to PS3 as well)... if he mean Ninty, MS and SteamMachine will drop the market them he is wrong, but Ouya will stand strong.

"With no competition" is impossible.
If Microsoft and Nintendo leave the market (and it won't happen), then you can be sure Apple, Google, Samsung or even Facebook will launch their own video game divisions. Too much money to make, nobody would just look at Sony taking all this market.
Sole ownership of the market shouldn't and will not happen at least in the US. That said, I don't think the market can support three players at full health though. With the similarities between XB and PS software, it would be best if one dropped out. And Nintendo should never again do an expensive weak console. Either shoot for top tier or value. Weak + expensive + gimmick = fail. Imagine if the WiiU launched at 179 with no tablet and a better name.

There is not that much money in that (for now?), thus the last company that entered the home console market was Microsoft... 13 years ago.
Potential sure....but none the less I hope they NEVER do. That would be horrible for the industry in my opinion. Competition is ALWAYS good.
The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...
