'Exclusive territory' literally means there would be no competitors. That's the definition of exclusive, you know. If that's not what he meant, then he shouldn't have said it.
Nintendo Network ID: Cheebee 3DS Code: 2320 - 6113 - 9046

It´s almost there...
But I don´t know the analyst is saying what we think he is saying.
It´s more about that he belives Sony console would be the only market Sony would exists. If all enteirtaiment converges to a single platform then this is their exclusive territory.
Console gaming alone can´t save Sony.

That would never happen.

They already have a significant market share in this industry.
I really hope something like that never happens.... :/

Please don't be true.
As much as the idea of every single game all being on one device sounds appealing, anyone with half a brain knows that monopolies in anything are never good. We would lose big on something, whether it means insane prices or game quality goes down, less game variaty, ect something bad woudl come of a monopoly.
Also even if xbox and nintendo go into the wind there is still always the PC market.
No but they do have the chance to be the Comcast of gaming in effect controlling the market while smaller competitors remain. Though I've always said hardware competition is not what gives you your great experiences. It is software competition. Even if one console controlled 100% of the market the developers of games would still have to compete with each other and make more quality experiences. And if said console manufacturer doesn't stay on their toes they can lose that market (ie if they would try to extend a gen indefinitely or give us too low quality of hardware) so it's not like the hardware would ever get bad. PS5 will be a big improvement over PS4 and that's all that matters, not what it compares to PCs.
It does, but Microsoft and Nintendo have the disposable income to not let it happen.
