Um... how does it prove it? o.o I'm not sure whether you're saying either,
1) The given figure for the U.S. this week is an excellent number, and proves the Xbox One sells bunches, so all the other weeks must be undertracked cause they look so meh while the Xbox One sold so wonderfully this week, etc, etc, etc. In which case, I'd have to say, this week indicates nothing, given they were giving out a free game, plus a game bundle, PLUS in some cases that gift certificate, meaning that you could potentially get as much as 150 bucks worth of 'bonus' stuff on top of the console itself.
or,
2) The given figure for U.S. this week is a teeeerrible number, and so this week proves that the Xbox One must be getting undertracked, because the number for the posted week should, in your opinion, be MUCH higher than what it provided. Don't actually have much opinion about that, beyond that I'm kind of surprised it got as close to the PS4's sales that week in the first place, what with all the Destiny preorder bundles getting redeemed that week. =P Free game week or not, I don't think anyone was actually expecting the Xbox One to outsell the PS4 for that week, in the USA or otherwise. PS4's sales boost would have been too large, and too top-heavy, for the X1 to have much of a chance of catching up before week's end.
Either way, you might want to wait for adjustments. o.O The numbers for both the PS4 and Xbox One could end up going down, or up, depending on the NPD results.
