Total 2014 sales (thus far):

PS4: USA = 34% of sales (2.2m of 6.4m)
X1: USA = 61.5% of sales (1.44m of 2.34m)

This week doesn't seem particularly out of the ordinary ^^

Yes... because they are VGChartz numbers.

And they are the only WW number we have.

The other, and official source we have are the shippment numbers... which are completely ignored in this forum.

I enjoy the irony of you criticizing people for not using official source ^^

Amazing PS4 performance.

BTW for these that are in doubt about PS4 10 million because didn't know where it is selling (aka ioi).

Asia is selling twice the PS2 era and three times PS3 era.

But what were PS2/PS3 numbers in Asia ?

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Those PS4 figures are ridiculous, but the One isn't actually that far behind in the US, all things considered. There might still be a battle there if MS plays their cards right.
Wii U heading back into the 30's, albeit a month or two later than I thought, outsold by about 50% by the PS3 and only 5k ahead of the 360 in its 9th year on the market.
Seeing the potential of the PS4 and One, there can be little doubt any more; the PS4 wins the 8th gen and the One takes second place.

Thank you,

I am always glad to find reasonable people on this forums :)

I used to have a thread that did a very thorough analysis and provided plenty of arguments, and calculations on why X1 is not that far behind PS4 and can easily catch up in a few months if it does the right thing.

But unfortunately it was closed for no particular reason.

i was honesly upset that the thread was closed.

There will be a lull for the week of the 20th and then another ramp-up for the week ending Sept 27th with Fifa 15. Then its the Holiday season push! Fun times ahead! Haters better get their jabs in now.

not with it's 40k US pre orders for the best selling version.

LOL ok Zero999, don't worry though, Bayonetta 2 will help that Wii U baseline, same with Fatal Frame, you just watch.

I couldn't expect more than this stupid comment.

I'd like to reiterate my comments which I made before knowing those figures in the OP.

Quote
What Sony gets and MS don't is that it is the online games that require connectivity and lots of friend circles that push most of the sales, exclusive or not.

This is why Sony backed up Destiny heavily as it will help sell more PS4, and those people's friends will also buy one to stay in the circle. This is not a brand effect but rather "network effects", which is exactly why X360 was popular in the past. Sony uses the same tactics against MS this time around.

Yes, not only the exclusives but online games like Destiny have been the true system sellers since the beginning of the 7th generation.

This is a very good point. Hell I got the X1 TF bundle for two reasons I wanted to play with my cousin in Boston (we used to play games together all the time when I lived there I live in Texas now) and to play TF cause it looked amazing. Unfortunately TF was way way way  to much of a let down to jusitfy still owning the bundle. So I returned it I liked the system but I already have a PS4 and I see no point in owning both no exclusive is that great. Although I will admit TLOU was pretty damn amazing.

Holy dayum! That's insane! Also good numbers for XBO.
But Wii U... Almost down to the pre MK baseline now. Also the Vita sold quite horribly.

vita sale are expected i would even say it's good numbers becuase there's no 3rd and first party support

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Yeah, it's on it's way to sell 50 million + in Asia... oh, wait.

What is confirmed.. PS4 will not be at 13 million by Sept 30th.. So it will be trailing Wii sales for the same period by about 2 million.

For a online scifi shooter?

Halo 3 - 64k

http://www.vgchartz.com/weekly/39355/Europe/

Halo Reach - 84k

http://www.vgchartz.com/weekly/40440/Europe/

Them Destiny gets twice the best HW boost for the PS4 and gives the XOne only half of the 2007 release.

Well, may be that is what happened. But its realy wierd.

PS: Off topic, but that means that Halo Reach on the 360 alone performed better than Destiny in all platforms combined?

Destiny sold a bit more in UK.

Official data (aka GFK).

404,000 > Destiny > Halo: Reach (388,000)

Sony official numbers will shed some light in October but for a console $150 more expensive, its keeping a good pace.
