I would rather have Nintendo buy some of Rare's more prominent IP's (mainly BK and Perfect Dark), then contract at least some of the individual studios that Rare's old talent belong to in order to provide creative input while you have another capable studio (preferably a UK studio) cooperate with development.

This. Nintendo Sold Rare. Who cares about the company anymore. They can't make anything good. Buy the franchises back. Not them.

NIntendo never owned Rare. They had a controlling stake in the company. Microsoft came in and bought it out in it's entirety

And? Controlling stake. They sold them to MS. So they bought up the shares. Same thing basically. I know it's not owning them outright.

Actually, to counter myself. Nintendo never owned Rare, they owned 49% of the company (not even enough for a controlling stake). They were a second party studio.

NIntendo wouldn't have had a choice when it came to Microsoft buying them out. Nintendo would have just accepted the cash from their shares and went about the day

Rare who? They haven't been relevant for 12 years. They should hire some of their old talent though.

Rare hasn't made a classic game since Conker's Bad Fur Day, while their last good game was Perfect Dark Zero.

I'd love to play the XBL remake of Perfect Dark, but I ain't spending 250 bucks on a new console for one remade game.

Rare made the best Donkey Kong games though. Haven't bought a DK game since Rare stop making them.

Too bad Rare will never left MS forever... /=

I'm still sad about Perfect Dark......

Bet with Xander XT:

I can beat more games on his 3DS than he can on my PSVita in a month. Loser has to buy the winner a game on his/her handheld Guess who won? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=193531

I really want Nintendo to take back a few of their IPs, they are wasted and unused by Microsoft and would probably sell better on Nintendos platforms anyway. Not only that, recent events suggest that their are a few ex Rare devs who would probably jump at the chance to work on a new Banjo Kazooie with Nintendo.

i agree about buying back the IPs. man, i'd love another jet force gemini. that game was awesome!

Having Rare in its current state on Wii U would be pointless. The Rare of old is dead.

Don't know how much good the IPs would do if Nintendo isn't willing to commit resources to them.

Nintendo could use Retro to make some games come back in proper form. Remember they are a creative company. All they have to do is realize the pieces that were left behind and continue in the tradition. Microsoft....if they actually did something with it internally everyone would be surprised.

Everyone relevant left Rare a long time ago.
