It feels almost like reviewers have grown some balls in the 8th generation. About time; perhaps we'll see a shift of focus from glitz and glamour to actual depth and quality again.

M$ are probably laughing their asses off right now... their own internal studios are better at making a blockbuster Halo-like game than the original creators are.

Just imagine if Bungie was still with M$ and this game was an X1 exclusive... they'd be getting HAMMERED in the media with yet another massively overhyped and mediocre / underwhelming exclusive like Titanfall. As it stands, and since this is the PS4's biggest title of the year, Destiny will still push a ton of consoles and have plenty of defenders in the gaming community.

All these 6-7 for Destiny makes me think of GTA4 for some reason.
The highest-rated game in the history of Metacritic (not counting OoT), but I never saw a single person who agrees the game is a 9 or 10.

I think we're gonna see another Titanfall. Huge hype=big launch numbers+bad reviews+word of mouth=flop.

No, should it be? Glitz and glamour is what most of the 7th gen was about, obviously some reviewers are fed up with it and are starting to punish developers who choose this route. It is also driving the development cost higher.

I'm old fashioned and sad to see past heroes of the industry fall one by one into the snare of shallow gaming, or at least; more shallow.

I like the game, 8/10 here after playing around 12 hours. No, it's not the greatest of all time, but I certainly think it deserves better than 6/10...
