It's actually pretty difficult to be a male porn actor. You can't blow your load for hours so you're constantly starting and stopping. They also won't take you if you're out of shape and/or have a average/small penis. The pay is pretty shit for men as well.

Research paper on the state of human trafficking in Japan from 4 years ago. I don't remember many of the details, but one of the points cited towards Japan's relatively poor record on sex trafficking was that trafficked victims were often brought in under the "entertainment" visa class, which was a separate class from other forms of employment.

Plenty of Japanese porn-men are out of shape and/or have an average/small penis. At least from the AV movies i've seen, seems to be an even chance of getting someone who would resemble a Western porn-man.
