And I still don't get why people gobble up this product, so many better phones from Samsung, HTC, Google, and Sony that just blow this out the water and cost the same if not less.

That is because there is no phone better than iPhone 5S until... maybe iPhone 6.

You will find these others better until try an iPhone :D

Really, only an 8 MP camera? I know their camera is really good but I would think they would continue to improve the quality with higher MP count.

No, they improve quality by increasing the accuracy of the sensor pixels. That gets you better photos without jacking up file size.

Honestly, there are so many ways to improve a camera beyond just pixel count that it might be even worse than the megahertz wars.
