Forums - Gaming - The Playstation 4 Advantage. Can Gamers Tell The Difference Between 720p and 1080p?

Why you didn't said the same thing when x360 got a little bit better version then ps3

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

No offense. But if you cant tell the difference between 1080p and 720p then you need to check your eyes tested. 1080p has a lot of sharpness and even non gamers can also tell the difference.

I've asked myself if there is really a big difference. I think to an extent it depends on the size of your TV.
On a TV 32 inches or smaller, I probably won't be able to see the difference unless I am looking for it. I try to focus on the game and less on the resolution.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

Do you have something to back you up lol?

I´d love to see a experiment where people are asked to evaluate randon images with differente resolutions and give then a score.

I don´t know, but I don´t think people would rate a 1080p image as 125% better than a 720p, nor 40% better than a 900p...

But any way, why this discussion when we have only 2 games out of more than 100 games that have this difference?

What matters is both the size and the distance from the TV. With a 32 inch TV only 2-4m away the difference is very clear.

Jega, why do you bother with these threads? You must know they're not going to end nicely?

If i respectfully replied to this thread, i would get banned.

So all I really can say is that you are very very very wrong.

Oh, and MS is stupid. Even more stupid than sony was when they released a $600 console in 2006 cause they were the primary benefactors of every stupid move sony did back then. This generation practically belonged to MS, they would have at the very least maintained their market share.

Oh, and if you are realy trying to say their isn't a meaningful or tangible difference in performance between the PS4/XB1 and that even if their were gamers wouldn't notice/care, then you really have to get out from under that rock you are living in.

Everyone in my family can distinguish 720p with 1080p easily. And even between digital 1080p movies and Blu-Ray movies. If I force the PS4 at 720p and 1080p you can see a clear difference. Heck, even on my PC there is a clear difference between 900p and 1080p and it is hard not to notice. Seriously.

I can tell the difference for sure. When my GPU burned few days ago, I had to play Dota 2 (the only game I play on pc) in 720P with built-in GPU. I have realized how ugly things look on a 1080P monitor in 720P resolution. Everything is blurry, jaggies are all around. You have to be so blind to not notice.

Also, if PS4 can do 1080P and Xbone can't, the hardware power difference is there, which you can't deny. Question is, why Xbone is priced the same as the more powerful PS4?
