Not really. Also not happening as they said the game will on the "big screen" this time.

A difference of only 1M is not enough to make a real difference in sales, especially when the PS4 is supported by third party in Japan, they consider the futur of Dragon Quest, they know it's a more popular console, even in Japan, surveys put PS4 as the most wanted home console to make a DQ, and like i said, fans will go where is the game anyway, and since they want to expand DQ name, PS4 is the best choice |
I'm not saying it's going to be on Wii U, but it's a 1.2 million unit difference and it's growing weekly.

Yes for now, but it will be totally différent in 2015 ans for thé reste of the génération obviously
Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:
PS4: 17m XB1: 10m WiiU: 10m Vita: 10m
I still think this game will be released for the 3DS/mobile with the big screen comment likely alluding to a PS4 port, especially after reading this interview. DQ Heroes is likely a test to see if it is worth porting to the western focused PS4. Square Enix might be the most retarded publisher in the industry, but not even they would screw up their only big money maker that doesn't take 10 years to develop and doesn't cost huge amounts.

Well according to your logic, they couldnt skip 3DS for FF and KH3 because it's money wasted, still they did, so... Dont tell me it's different, it's not, they could have made less ambitious games but no, they prefered to make an ambitious game for next gen. If they have the same ambition for the next Dragon QUest, it's easy to understand why they aim big screen and why PS4 will be the platform.
Especially if they want to export Dragon Quest with a good marketing, they know the best choice for that, most populair console with not a lot of games yet, not like 3DS where there is too many japanese games. |
Well, if we are talking about a company making money, why would you release kh3 on the ps4 and Xbox? How many copies are they looking to sell on those consoles if the game is coming out in 2015? Kh3 in Japan is a Ps4 exclusive, but is not going to sell a million copies. Kh3 in the west 1 million at full price between PS4 and Xbox? The 3ds and vita (lets make it multi) 1.5 millions 3ds + 500k vita, or just 3ds 2 millions at full price... Where do you see more potential for Profits?
FF is kind of a different beast, given that it has a long standing tradition on PS consoles at least main FF games. Lets say FFXV comes out by December 2015. Then lets say the PS4 has 25 million base, and that the Xbox has 15 millions. 40 millions. FFXiii the last main FF sold 6.2 million copies (wikipedia) by the end of 2010. 6.2 millions in a userbase above 100 million (6%). Now, lets say 10% of the user base by 2015 buys the game that 4 million copies.
4 million copies with a megabloated budget for development, advertising, royalties... Not a lot of profit tbh.
Now lets make a FF for 3DS. A main FF for the 3ds. If FF bravery default (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bravely_Default#Reception) sold more than a million copies wordwide, I bet a full blown FF game could sell 2 million copies.
If you were to compare budgets, advertising, royalties obviosly the 3DS would make more sense, since ads in the west would probably be on Nintendo, rather than SE.
And the dev time? FFXV is being in development for over a decade. Enough time to release 4 full blown 3ds and vita FF.
So yes, by my logic they should also be on the 3DS.
