I still think this game will be released for the 3DS/mobile with the big screen comment likely alluding to a PS4 port, especially after reading this interview. DQ Heroes is likely a test to see if it is worth porting to the western focused PS4. Square Enix might be the most retarded publisher in the industry, but not even they would screw up their only big money maker that doesn't take 10 years to develop and doesn't cost huge amounts.
