True, and I see it selling well if they advertise in the tv show and stuff. Also, it can sell some WiiUs to casuals and fans of The Voice.

Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m
Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

There are a LOT of people, even on here, that said they would never touch a Nintendo console after the Wii and it isn't because of the motion controls. There were AMAZING games on the Wii, but even I can't say it wasn't flooded with absolute garbage.
The bottom statement is exactly what Iwata is hoping for. Sales that positively effect the short term while sacrificing the longterm perception of the company. This will only serve to alienate themselves further from the core audience next gen.

Attracting hardcore gamers it's a lost cause for Nintendo no matter what they do that's why they should attract casuals gamers ,playstation can't attract casuals gamers that's why they support hardcore gamers.

| Gammalad said: Can someone explain to me how this is more profitable than a 360->Wii U port of COD Advanced Warfare? |
Porting CoD for Wii U requires the work of 39 developers, on an average of 65.000 U$ per year, and 1 year effort to port, for a total of 2.5 million per ported game, that means the game have to sell around 100k to start making a profit, but it will make sense to do it again if they at least triple the investment, it did not happened for Ghosts, so that bridge is burned.
This is a new approach, most likely the development can be handled by around 20 developers, so half the team, the inclusion of the mic will affect revenue but not too much, and the development time will most likely remain the same, so lets say they need also 100k units to start making a profit and they expect to triple the investment, can they do it, maybe not, but at least they are not sure, so they are willing to take the risk this one time.
In conclusion they are exploring new alternatives to make money out of the console, because the last time they tried with a CoD game, it did not worked out for them. This could be a disaster or a huge success, but they are not sure, while porting AW they already know that does not make financial sense as the last 2 sold poorly.
