@Dolla Dolla: Did you actually read the thread?

I'm having a bit of a hard time understanding if you guys are kidding or just being idiots.

All those unsold Wii's from Jan and until now had to go somewhere, maybe online retail channels got some love for once?

In stock for 2 days? 2 WHOLE days?

Wow. N. can cut back on the replenishments there. Instead of shipping the games in minutes to replen like they needed to, they can wait for days, maybe even 4 days, before restocking Amazon UK.

Oh, shoot. They are probably on a weekly basis at best. Oh well. Back to outages before the new stock gets there. Let me know when stock last for 6 days, would you?

Very funny, but as I said this week is a huge difference. Stock at amazon UK used to last for minutes every single time. Even much before Christmas.

True.  It is a difference.  But we can't tell how much it really means until there is still one Wii on the shelf when new stock comes in.  Which for Amazon, I admit, is going to be hard for us to tell.  For the other 'sightings', I guess the person can ask the store clerk what day the stock usually comes in, and then come in late the night before to see if there is any left.

'True' demand levels have to be measured by not allowing any out of stock condition, not even on the day of new stock, but before it has hit the shelves.  Since it is possible that a customer walking by would see the last one and buy it even though the Wii has been sitting there gathering dust for 7 days.

Torturing the numbers.  Hear them scream.

I did read it. It's just be a long time since a seal has been murdered. I wanted to put one to rest at the first mention of Amazon. Forgive me?

Sure, which is why I posted a whole lot of text with my analysis of the situation.

@Dolla Dolla: Absolutely, I have to say that I missed the seals too! It's been a long time since someone killed one ;)

If it makes it to digg or other high volume news site, I am sure the supply at amazon will not last.

After 3 days and a half, the situation is unchanged (still in stock, still #1 in sales).

It will be interesting to see how sales progress from here on, if it's indeed true that the Wii is finally available in most stores in UK.

It was #2 in sales just now, Mario and Sonic was first.

If by next week we still have Wii's in ample stock then we may be able to say that demand and supply are equalizing
