Forums - Gaming - PS Vita lite & PS Vita TV vs. NEW 3DS & New 3DS XL.

Which is better for the gaming industry?

New 3DS/XL 68 64.15%

PS Vita Lite/TV 29 27.36%

See results. 9 8.49%

Total:106

Of course the 3DS wins. I doubt Vita TV will sell well. Sony even got rid of the word Vita from the PS Vita TV name in North America.

One is region free and has persona 4 G. So PS Vita for me. Plus ps vita has some nice games.

What do you think about these games?

Etc. Etc. etc.

Surely list wars have no place here.

I was wondering what relevance reeling out a list of games was to.

Better for gaming? Vita line hands down. Cross buy, Cross play, Cross Save, Region free.

Will sell better? N3DS through brand power.

I'm also rather concerned that the poll seems to think what is the equivalent of the 32X of handheld gaming is better for gaming industry than a Nintendo 64.

The answer to which handheld/microconsole will sell more is obvious as heck.

However, I will say that the Vita Slim/Vita TV are better for gaming. PS+ and cross-buy/play are absolutely great for the Vita. The Vita is also not region locked, thus any game can be played. In fact, I'm playing the Chinese version of P4G right now.

The Vita TV should help boost the userbase even if only temporary. The platform does have a good library, but the average consumer doesn't know that because of Sony's inept advertising of its games. But games like SAO: Hollow Fragment, DanganRonpa 2, Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited, Digimon Cyber Sleuth (if it ever gets localized), and more are worth playing.

I forgot to ask, what do you think about the NEW 3DS having a more better and more advance screen then almost all high-end TVs?

Anyways, I updated the OP with it.

And high-end TVs displays can go suck it, LOL.

Lol, given all the flak non 1080p games get on this forum, this is a peach of a comment.

Or is the N3DS 4K OLED?

Isn't it only like 240p?

I thought you were trolling, but it is 240p.............

There are 5 different N3DS versions on Amazon JP top 7 right now. I believe the N3DS will be really successful, there are lots of people who have only the original 3DS and were waiting for another revision and it will attract some new players too.

Vita is an interesting console, but I think Sony went wrong when they tried to create a handheld that could "replace" home consoles. People buy handhelds to play small sessions in general and when a casual player sees a PSVita, it doesn't feel like a good device for that, while the 3DS seems fine for both hardcore and casual players.

I'll probably buy the N3DS for the bigger (but not so big as the 3DSXL) screen.

Kind of an easy thread. 3DS wins on every account. IMO the Vita tv is kind of rubbish and the new Vita model is more of a downgrade than upgrade on the old model. The new 3DS however is a definite improvement and will sell plenty.

So them still being kind of region locked is confirmed now? Any word on the rumoured other NNID changes?

Region lock is confirmed, NNID is not I believe.

Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC

New 3DS will win hands down.

To me the better for gaming is the one that has better software support. The 3DS has better software support that I cannot get anywhere else.

I do not care for Region coding besides one case in my whole life. Eventually that game released in NA, and I no longer care for it again.

Vita could have been better for gaming, if the company supporting it, would actually support it.

Note: I will be purchasing both PSVita TV and New 3DS XL.

3DS will sell more of course. But I have to say: I think 3DS is better for gaming '-'
