| Madword said: For me it's all about integrity. The ad is funny, but it brings MS into dispute, because they are happy to break contracts, which is ironic considering they have done a deal for COD every year and they won't even talk about the TR deal without telling the truth. |
There is no contract between MS and Activision which the site pretty much state. There is nothing to break and really no integrity involved. I truly wonder if Sony have done this first with COD what the comments would look like. Hell, if Sony does something like this if they get the opportunity I wonder what the coments would look like. Personally I hope Sony does it.

It seems like the most logical explanation from a fragrance by Microsoft.

But what if it was writing in a contract? As in MS paid for the special early DLC and exclusive advertising rights. So Sony couldn't advertise CoD, even if they wanted to. Even mick taking was probably too close or they just couldn't be bothered. They had better things to do like advertise all the games they were making or spending their money making more games. *Thinks* Paying for online play, no moral high ground at all there for anyone, other than Nintendo and all PC games. Well done them. |
Lets be honest, we can what if to our heats content. The thing is MS found a great opportunity to use Destiny to promote their bundles coming out at the same time. Also if you think about it, MS also have those deals coming up where you can choose any game you want with the purchase of an X1. Throw in the bundles and you can pretty much get 2 games for the console. Its not going to change someone mind who will purchase a PS4 but it probably will get the fence sitter like myself to pull the trigger.
Only Nintendo can claim moral high ground on Online Play. PC doesn't count because its not a closed in platform or service.
Haha, wow. Stop trying to make this happen MS, it's not going to happen.

Really? Sore losers... Hate much?
It is just marketing... And will always happen from both companies selling 10M or 5M will not make any differences.
Chill out dude...

Where is the sad part coming from. First and foremost, multiple sites have post this ad. Multiple forums has discussed the ad. Awareness for MS products and bundles is the result of this ad. If anythign there isn't anything sad at all but very clever way to advertise your product with a game that is getting a lot of buzz. The only way you can look at this being sad is if you are totally pro blue then of course its bad by definition. |
It's sad because they can't rely on word of mouth to sell it like Ps4 can. It's sad because they are so desperate to attach their name to a third party that they are willing to risk breaching contracts and risk lawsuits. Instead of offering a good first party. Yeah people in forums are talking about this but it's not going to get any of them to buy it. If anything its going to push people away. It's not clever it's desperate and dishonest, and frankly that's why its so funny. Because at this point they are squirming are willing to do anything.
EDIT: I apologize to anyone that was offended by this post. I attempted to use levity to lighten the mood. As Cone kindly pointed out it was a bit trollish and I apologize. I merely meant to express why I found the situation humorous. In all seriousness MS and xbox will be in serious trouble if they do not get their act together. Moves like this tho humorous can often do more harm then good imo and since I've invested in MS consoles since the Xbox I do genuinely care about the future of the console. Yes I may criticize and poke fun from time to time but it is only in jest and in hopes that it riles them into better action. I want great 1st party titles on the console that are more than just Halo or gears. It annoys me that they go to such extreme and often painful to watch tactics in order to attach themselves to third party games when they should be focused on 1st party.

They cannot advertise a product they don't own. But yes I guess there is no contract with them... *BUT* they also sign contracts with same said company with the intent that they are the only ones allowed to advertise. So it is all about integrity.
They are obviously struggling with sales, and obviously losing the battle with Destiny, but then they should have made the deal.
I really hope Sony do it also..

Hi. There are some great Xbox One offers available at the moment. Please check with retailers for more information.
So they had to back off before it got serious.
