Forums - Gaming - what's so special about minecraft?

It's the sense of creativity, freedom, satisfaction, and progression that the game gives you. It's not for everyone. But for people like me, there's nothing more satisfying and exciting than spending an hour traversing the labyrinthine inner workings of a mountain cave, just to find a group of diamonds at the very bottom. Then going back to the house that I've built and building improvements for it.

That's how I play it, in survival. But you can just play in creative mode and build giant megaman and cock 'n' balls statues if you like.

i still cant believe how it still sells on x360 when how limited it is compared to the pc version.

I think its the general open-ness of the game. You can do what you want, the way you want, and that has massive pull for the younger audience.

Current Game Machines: 3DS, Wii U, PC.

Currently Playing: X-Com(PC), Smash Bros(WiiU), Banner Saga(PC), Guild Wars 2(PC), Project X Zone(3DS), Luigis Mansion 2(3DS), DayZ(PC)

I just finished the tutorial and went up the stairs to the castle. Is the section after the tutorial the actual game? I got attacked by archers and died. I know there are plenty of user created levels but is the level AFTER tutorial the same for everyone?

All levels apart from the tutorial are randomly generated ^^ Just exit out the tutorial and create a new world.

Ok, so I've done that and started a new world on 'survivor'. Will it randomly generate villages, caves and of course creatures? Speakiing of creatures: are there any large creatures such as dragons?

Oh, and do you know how to delete levels? I've now got three and I want to reduce it to one (now I understand it a little better)

I had to stop watching them, because the block graphics were bothering me.

So this pretty much tells me that you only like games with good graphics.

But pretty much the game is, you think of it, you can build it. It gives you the freedom to imagine things and then just building them with using the basic building blocks while trying to survive the semi harsh environment. It's a game of creativity.

Absolutely nothing. It's basically an engine they let you play with and it gets unwarranted craze and sales. Oh well whatever floats people's boats I only get mad about crazy popular games like this when I see something flop or not get the attention it deserves as a result (like Puppeteer and GTA5 last year)

It will randomly generate villages, caves, creatures, minerals, everything. There are dragons but only as the final boss if you decide to go after it.

You should be able to delete them from the world select screen. Although I'm not sure where.
