Nintendo 3DS owners will soon be able to customise their home menu by applying themes to it.
The new feature will be added as part of a system update coming to the 3DS in October.
Among the other features added in this update will be a Themes Store, which will be included in the eShop menu.
This will enable players to buy new themes based on current and upcoming Nintendo titles.
Each theme will change the 3DS home menu's background, icons, folders, music and sound effects.
The initial image released by Nintendo shows themes for Animal Crossing, The Legend Of Zelda, Super Mario Bros and a general Mario design.
Elsewhere today Nintendo revealed new 3DS models, complete with a second analogue stick, two more shoulder buttons and NFC functionality
