LOL. Very, very true. This also applies to my conversation with CDiablo on the "1/3 of PS4 users only used a 360 or Wii" survey.

No matter how many people want the Xbox One to die off and go away it simply won't happen. I will have fun this generation watching Microsoft take marketshare just like last generation. |
The stradegy Microsoft is using is the difference.
Sony was buying up developer tallent left and right. They didn't have to buy exclusives, they made them, and no matter what position they were in the cost was the same. Microsoft is just buying exclusives. The more the PS4 outsells the Xbox One the more expensive (rarer) these deals become and the higher the price as developers want compensation for the ever increasing opportunity cost.
This has been going on for years. Most of us wanted Microsoft to beef up it's developement teams. Microsoft took the easy escape plan. They don't have to worry about what to do with developers if they close up shop. They aren't tied to gaming using this stradegy unlike Sony. They can easily just drop the section of the company at any time. Buying exclusive is not a long term substainable stratedgy when your not the market leader. It's a short term stradegy that you use when you aren't fully invested.
Add the fact that rumors have made the rounds that Microsoft is thinking about selling off the gaming division, spinning off the gaming division, the last stockholder meeting basically avoiding the Xbox causing concern, the Xbox One is already losing an insane amount of money, and the fact that stock holders want to drop the division.
I can see why consumers lack faith in Xbox One's future. It still has great games and you should enjoy them. Just like we all enjoyed the Dreamcast.

The last like 3 or 4 threads Jega has made seem to be click bait threads. I am not sure if they are made for points or to get reactions out of people. They never make any sense, the logic is always skewed, flawed and one sided. He never truly responds to any valid points made against what he says. And if he does he says there are just my thoughts/opinions or will say "all I am saying is the XB1 is doing fine". Or he will just pretty much change what he was saying all together. Let's not feed into the temptation of these threads and keep it moving....PEACE!!!! |
I'll join the campaign to end illogical jega threads. Here are some ideas:
Post in jega threads, but to not respond to the op or acknowledge it in any way. Forum rules require you to post on topic, so do that but do it in a way that pretends the op does not exist. Jega often creates thread titles which appear to be reasonable and thoughtful but the op destroys that illusion in the first sentance. So it it often possible to address the thread title without acknowledging the existence of the op.
Post in jega threads only once with the standard response "Sorry jega you are wrong for... reasons.../Thread".
OT, PS4 is outselling Xb one because it's a better package for most gamers.

I think many Playstation 3 owners are bored of their Playstation 3 and therefore wanted something new. (Playstation 4)

You may not realize this but a large percentage of PS4 sales came from 360 owners.
Your prediction is inflamatory and redicilous. Its more likely that the PS4/Xbox One are selling at around the same ratio as PS3/360.

And there is the problem. Microsoft is not SEGA, neither is Sony SEGA, Sony and Microsoft have the money to stay in the
hardware business. If Microsoft or Sony decides to leave the videogame industry, It won't be because of lack of money.
The only thing that I see is that Microsoft is spending more money than sony on exclusive games.
And that is the key factor that will make the Xbox One relevant.
The power difference between the Xbox One and the PS4 is not going to be a deal breaker this gen.
What will be is the games, when people see all these Xbox One exclusive games, and they are not on PS4, people will choose an
Xbox One.
Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break, Halo 5, Forza Horizon 2, Titanfall and many games to come are the reason people will choose
an Xbox One over a Playstation 4.
People will not care about 30 percent less resolution or how much frame rates. Just watch and see.

You really misinterpreted Josiah's comment. He wasn't making a direct comparison to Sega. He's only saying like Dreamcast, the X1 is floundering in sales, but still has its own fair share of good games. Also, the games you've listed aren't compelling enough to most consumers. Titanfall is on PC, for instance. Pre-orders for Sunset Overdrive are low, which is a shame because it looks unique and cool. Quantum Break has a high possibility of going PC especially in context of Dead Rising 3 and Ryse, and how Remedy ported Alan Wake to PC last gen.
People do care about the difference in power. Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is a clear example of that. Same goes for the other multiplats out there.

Well wether he was making a direct comparison or not, comparing the dreamcast with xbox one seems to give the impression
that the Xbox One will have the same fate as the dreamcast.
Next we are talking about console exclusives. You claim these games are not compelling to consumers. Titanfall is a new Ip
and have sold over 2 million units on the Xbox one. For a new Ip that is excellent. Sunset Overdrive is also a new IP
Therefore the low pre-order numbers you claim, no suprise there. Quantum break is still not coming to the PS4, so for people
looking to purchase a gaming console and like that game and the others that I mentioned being exclusive to the Xbox One
can make them purchase and Xbox One over a PS4.
Now as far as tomb raider goes that game is primarly known as a playstation franchise. I have not seen any game that grew up
on playstation sell more on even the Xbox 360. Maybe there are a few exceptions, but I don't recall it. So again, no suprise there.
Considering PS3 had more, and arguably better (they were better) exclusives in the later stages of its life compared to the xbox 360. I highly disagree. They screwed up with PR and price.
