I feel many people on this website and other websites who don't want to see the Xbox One do well is trying to

spread negativity about the Xbox One In hopes that the Playstation 4 will be the outright winner this gen.

I got a news flash for you that won't happen because Microsoft will do almost anything to make the Xbox One just

as successful as the Xbox 360 is. Last generation it was basically a tie between the Xbox One and the Playstation 3.

Sony went from 75% market share with Playstation 2 to less than 30% with the Playstation 3.

Sony lost a lot of Market share to Microsoft and many people didn't like that.

If people feel that Sony is going to come back and get back 75% market share. They are going to be very

disappointed. Microsoft and their Xbox One will prevent that from happenning and there is nothing Sony can

do about it.
.
The Xbox is here to stay and the Xbox One will do just fine like I have been saying for months now.

People need to stop spelling doom and gloom just because they want to see a gaming machine fail.

It makes you look really bad.

you make a thread about the xbox 1 catching up and leading WW by the end of 2016,    now its "itll do just fine"  and saying the ps4 wont have 75% market share.    Not many are claiming it will,  but we know the ps4 will win because we are able to use something that has helped humans advance to this point in the world.  its called LOGIC.    Last gen was basically a tie because Sony won europe while MS took NA.     this time around europe is a blood bath,  and NA is a battle ground, that looks like it has sony out ontop.   IN ORDER FOR THE XB ONE TO CATCH THE PS4 WORLD WIDE, IT NEEDS A BETTER RATIO IN NA THAN WHAT THE PS4 HAS IN EUROPE.

The XB1 will sell lots of units sure,   but its not gonna beat the ps4.  you need to accept that already.   rather ironic you say it makes us look really bad...

So you by your logic then, Since the Playstation 4 sold more consoles than the Xbox One in the first year, then the Playstation 4 has already won this generation.

As I recall the Playstation 3 was behind the Xbox 360 after the first year, and after a couple years was able to catch the Xbox 360.

So why is now impossible for the Xbox One to catch the Playstation 4.

Maybe because the Xbox 360 was released about 1 year earlier than the PS3... are you for real on this thread?

I am fully aware the Xbox 360 was released a year before the PS3.

My point is that it was at one point behind the Xbox 360. Thats my point.

I'm sorry but that's an absolutely moronic point to be made. What kind of comparison are you trying to make? You submit that the X360 was leading after 1 year (even if they only sold 1 console they would be leading as the PS3 wasn't in the market), and then refer that the PS3 surpassed their sales.

Well... OF COURSE!!! Since the day 1 the PS3 was outselling the Xbox worldwide! There was never a turn of the tide in which for some time the Xbox was outselling the PS3 and all of a sudden Sony counter attacks to take the win. Imagine it as a race where one competitor started later then the other one, and this one that started late still managed to finish ahead of the previously mentioned early starter. Knowing this, the next race they both start at the same time (current gen). You are now suggesting that past history shows that the 3 time champion is going to lose, even though they gave no headstart to the opponent, but also have better running shoes (better hardware) and run in front of their homecrowd (utterly destroying Microsoft in PR perception).

Just, really... stop for a minute and try to think about what other people are relaying to you in this thread ok?

The situation can surely change.

As I recall the Playstation 3 launched a $500 and $600 dollars.

Sony thought people would buy the PS3 at that price they were wrong.

Looks like Microsoft made the same mistake.

The Playstation 3 was selling so badly that major developers were planning to pull support if sony didn't drop the price.

After 10 months on the market sony dropped the price of the PS3 by $200.

At 400 dollar PS3 sales took off.

That is why the probably launched the PS4 at $400. They learned from their mistake.

Microsoft Unbundled the Kinect from the Xbox One 7 Months after the Xbox One launched.

Maybe Microsoft will have to drop the price again to $50 making the Xbox One $350.

Time will tell, but the situation changed for Sony even though they lost a lot of money in the process.

And the same thing may happen to Microsoft. That is all I am trying to say.

Edited to make it look like you know how paragraphs work - Torillian

At this point, it isn't that you're saying the Xbox One would do well that is drawing a lot of, er, criticism, it's that your prediction has no real basis or reason to be made quite this early. Like, at all. The situation as it currently stands is;

1) Xbox One still looking to be steadily outsold by PS4 in the U.S.

2) Xbox One getting obliterated in Europe, bringing global ratio between the two as high as 2:1.

3) Xbox One hasn't caught up to the Wii U yet, and might even be getting outsold the last couple of months.

4) Xbox One might not even be selling as well, month by month, as the Xbox 360 did in its first summer, despite ample supply.

5) While an earlier poster did suggest the fact that the CoD bundle is doing poorly might be because CoD buyers are waiting til the last minute, that isn't as likely to explain why Sunset Overdrive is doing even worse. Unless new IP fans are similarly casual, and aren't interested in a bundle that gives them a completely free game. So short of an extreme pick-up in sales towards the end, the bundles don't seem likely to move many units, and the Destiny bundle looks primed to outclass both of them, possibly even combined.

Now, can things change? Absolutely. But you're not waiting for them to change. Rather than make the prediction when the Xbox One has done, well, anything positive, such as win a single NPD, or catch up to the PS4 in the U.S. for at least a little while, or even surpass the Wii U globally, you're making the prediction at a time it has accomplised, literally, no noteworthy sales feats compared to its competitors.

It's like having the British knock down your walls, destroy your cannons, drive you and your three soldiers into your stronghold, everything's on fire, only for you to say; "Not a problem, we will STILL kick all three hundred of their asses!" Sure, anything can happen. All three hundred might suffer from a sudden, radical outbreak of scarlet fever and drop dead. The cavalry might come charging over the hill. But that's all stuff that might happen, with no guarantee of success or if it will even be enough to turn the tide.

As for 'Anything can happen,' well, maybe Sony WILL get back seventy-five percent marketshare. You said it yourself! Things change! Anything can happen! Meaning that can happen too, right! :3

So, basically Jega, your silly prediction is based on nothing more than your wishful thinking that what might happen will, in your mind, no doubt happen...

Nothing supports your prediction. In fact everything indicates that it won't happen, yet your one dimensional thinking on the matter can't let you accept reason.

That's a little sad. =(

Wait I thought this was gonna be one of those stickied threads from months ago. Some people still believe these 3 obvious game releases will change anything? LOL Uncharted, Destiny, and dozens of other exclusives all say high to those 3 washed out series.

Yes you are right the last eight months have showed that the Xbox One is still very much in the game.

To be fair, even if the PS4 reaches 75 percent of the marketshare, Xbox One'll still be very much in the game. Technically speaking. Soooo... 75% confirmed? :3
