Forums - Nintendo - Hyrule Warriors Only Moved 57% Of Its Stock In Japan

Best comparison is Gundam Musou 1. It released in early 2007 on PS3 when it has a tiny userbase. DW6 released about a year into PS3's launch. Another good comparison.

Ouch, that's not too good then, especially because total stock is not that high in comparison to begin with.

The Musou fanbase isn't on the Wii U and the Zelda IP can't push sales like Gundam or One Piece. As simple as that, really. One Musou milkshake isn't going to bring all the Musou fans to Nintendo's yard. What will be interesting is if Nintendo has worked out a deal to bring future Musou games to the Wii U.

Hyrule Warriors should have some legs, though, as it faces a lot less third party competition on the system.

That's not such a bad thing. Mean it could have a good 2nd week by selling the rest.

From Tsutaya we can roughly guess that the figures for the second week are at least >20k. Depending on how long the Yoshi spike from Obon lasts, it may be even >30k. But if you assume that Yoshi hasn't remained 30k and use the old baseline for MK8 at 20k, then knowing that HyWa > Yoshi > MK8 means > 20k for HyWa.

Its entirely possible that they've run through the majority of stock depending on whether you trust Famitsu or Media Create's estimates, and if the figures come out >30k. (Also we have no idea what digital did but that's always true.)

~60% sounds fine to me

Eh, it'll have legs only by virtue of the game getting discounted.

it is not bad at all, WiiU doesn't have a big user base anyway

if the game is good it will have legs

You could also factually say that Hyrule Warriors sold 250% better than Wind Waker HD did in Japan its first week in Japan

While I get your point, the correct number would be 150% more.

If something doubles, it means that it increases by a hundred percent.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016
