Forums - Gaming Discussion - Do you have interest in/like ANY nintendo game?

You were right, I should have listened.

You were trying to discuss video games with someone who doesn't want to discuss video games. You can see his and my comments to each other and realize that, lol. He's just the typical "I hate everything about Nintendo" guy trying to get a rise out of people. *Yawn*.

I do enjoy a Mario Kart once a while but that is where it ends. I played the heck out of Pokemon but once Black released I didn't found it appealing anymore. No real new major IP's from Nintendo is the problem I think.

What about XenoBlade? I got some of my WRPG friends into that game.

Zelda?

Metroid?

Starfox?

The odd Resident Evil exclusive?

Fire Emblem?

Advance Wars?

The only games i choose nintendo consoles for are J-RPGs so OP post is pretty much irrelevant for me.

That makes wii u irrelevant to me too though.

So you're just going to pretend that XenoBlade Chronicles X and SMT x Fire Emblem don't exist?

Not enough. 3DS is way more interesting right now. Theatrythm, Fire Emblem, SMT 4, FF explorers, Bravely default +second, ...

It's just 2 games, not enough to justify a console.

I dunno, the only games I ever beat on Wii (so far) were XenoBlade, Last Story and Mario Kart. I don't feel gipped, plus I still have Zelda, Metroid and others to play.

XenoBlade Chronicles X and SMT are only 2 games, but XenoBlade Chronicles X could be the best JRPG for home consoles during the 8th gen. Can you really ignore that? Plus I really doubt the WiiU is only going to see 2 JRPG's.

There are other similar genres too, do you have any interest in Zelda or Bayonetta 2 (Both Japanese)? If you don't have a Wii there are half a dozen exclusive JRPG's right there as well.

Splatoon looks like fun, but it's not going to make me run out and buy a Wii U...  it would be an XBLA/PSN game if it were on either the X1 or PS4.  And honestly, after the the disappointment from last few installments of both StarFox and Zelda (especially Zelda... haven't thoroughly enjoyed a game in that series since Wind Waker / Minish Cap), I have to see them and play them for myself first to believe them.  A behind-closed-doors pre-alpha tech demo and a pretty teaser trailer (didn't we see one of those way back at E3 2011?) aren't nearly enough to get me excited for either of these games.

I feel the same way about Titanfall, I'd get it if it were a Wii U eshop game. I feel a little more value may be coming to Splatoon though, it having a campaign mode and all. One may be able to argue map packs for Titanfall giving that game more value, but it isn't like you are getting it for free.

It is a little disheartening that you were disappointed with the last few installments of Zelda and Star Fox. I loved A Link Between Worlds, and it actually won Gamespot's game of the year not only for best 3DS game but overall game as well for 2013. For a handheld to win that is pretty impressive. Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess were also very satisfying to play, hitting different perspectives in both tone and art style. I don't think there is a video game series out there that has a World as diverse as the one in A Legend Of Zelda. I also enjoyed Star Fox, but do wish it would go back to being a flight sim, and based off of the footage we seen at E3, I'm going to be getting my wish.

One thing I will agree completely with you on though is pretty teaser trailers don't get me excited to buy a console.

I have not actually had a chance to play A Link Between Worlds yet so I wouldn't add it to the previous console and handheld Zelda entries that disappointed me over the past generation, but I've heard nothing but good things from people regarding ALBW and I love the idea of going back to ALTTP-era Zelda.  One of these days I'll get around to giving it a go.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

I owned a wii, and had a lot of fun with it. But I'm not satisfied with a few J-Rpgs, i usually play two of them per year.

That's mostly what i still love about my ps3, I bought 4 Tales of games in two months (chronicles, graces f and ToX) for 60 bucks. I'll have a ton of fun with that until at leats christmas.

Also there are loads of Gust, NiS, Compile hearts games. Of course they are not 90+ meta, but they are pretty good, and they all bring something different.

I think diversity is more important than quality.

What the hell is wrong with you? I'm here to say that the WiiU's lack of power is a consideration for potential customers. Stop going Simple Jack on me and turning it into something else. Clearly you know nothing about the industry if you don't even understand how games technically function.

Where did I say preference doesn't come into play?!

Now where did I say anything about how games technically function?

"The PS4 can't do 60 fps"

Oh wow look at you making shit up. Where did I say mature meant blood and language? I didn't. Stop arguing things that haven't been said because that is the behaviour of a 12 year old.

I've played most major Nintendo games from the SNES platform onwards. Nintendo games are boring as shit imo. Mario Kart is just hang back with a blue shell and then in the last 1/4 of the last lap, let rip. Smash Bros is just a button mash. And the platformers are tedious crap that is put to shame by the likes of Limbo and Braid.

Yes it is down to personal opinion as to what genres are good, but Nintendo is picking niche genres - the person that likes Kart racers tends to also like platformers meaning marketshare of gamers is going to be very small.

Nintendo doesn't have "lots of fans" for the living room console. Sales have always shown this, with the Wii being the exception as it was selling the controller rather than Nintendo. How am I having a tantrum? I'm stating why the Wii U isn't doing well - is this a fact you've forgotten?

Oh dear. If you think those games are pretty join the rest of us in 2014 and leave 2007 behind:

I'm done. I'm so done. I'm done done done done done.

Yeah, your argument was so compelling the smallest bit of criticism causes it to evaporate.  Goddamnit, people like you guys in this thread give gamers a bad reputation as you clearly pick sides and then argue BS. How about we are all gamers part of the same industry and should look at all this objectively, not "WAH I MUST DEFEND MY CONSOLE OF CHOICE!".
