You know what? I kinda want it to. Just so it can be another "I told you so" to all the people saying "I'm not gonna speculate on the future; you're only looking at the worst possible scenario; stop looking at it negatively" when talking about EA screwing people over.

In the history of video games, when we have cross gen games, when has the newest gen ever gotten the nerfed/gimped version?  You'd think they'd want to make the newer gen version the best in order to boost hardware sales, but nope. There's got to be ulterior motives for this move. Wilder speculation: because we know EA is in bed with MS and the XBone ain't doing so hot right now, they'll start doing this more and more to drive up EA Access subs [to make EA happy] and increase XBone sales [since the only way to play the complete game is on XBone (via EA Access), not PS4].

Keep "not speculating on the future", guys....the "you're only looking at this negative" predictions are coming true, one by one.

EA usually gimps their sports titles early in gens. I can think of one exception, Madden 2000 on PS2.

Maybe they'd think it was a justified loss. I mean, EA has been riding hard with MS since before the XBone reveal. They were one of the companies that thought the XBone was gonna smoke the PS4. They're one of the companies that wanted DRM. They've got a hard on for Xbox's Azure cloud servers. They want Xbox to be on top because that platform will allow them to pursue whatever goals trying to achieve easier (more so than PS4). There's dealing between EA and MS, we know they work very close together. And EA Sports are a big cash cow: people are gonna buy FIFA, NHL, Madden, etc no matter what (meaning a nerfed PS4 Madden is still gonna sell. I mean, an, in no questions, inferior PS3 version of Madden 08 sold a million copies! PS3 was at 4.5M at that time. 22% attach ratio!) . You think MS and EA wouldn't work something out to make the consumer think that the only way to get the best experience is with the XBone? It's mutually beneficial for both companies.

And let's say it did have to do with not having enough time to finish the modes on the new gen (even though that had last years Madden on PS4/XBone and they were identical, content wise, to the previous gen): do you think they wouldn't try and make an "exclusive DLC" behind EA Access to just patch in those modes on XBone?

This is actually the first PS1 game I ever had, and I played it well after multiple new yearly released came out.

This is why I always avoid games made by EA. They are destroying video games. If I buy games made by EA; I make sure its used.

This is the same company that stripped the lastest Sims because a few things where too hard to implement.

I'm happy to say that I haven't bought an EA sports titles since 2006 and it seems that streak is going to last.
