yes because sony and microsoft have created games in every genre for their systems. They just need to provide better support to 3rd parties for new IPs that come out. The poor 3rd party sales are a result of too many old school Nintendo fans leaving for other systems, starting from N64 days.

You can't just expect game A, B or C sequel number 3+ to sell well on a system that has no fan base built. Why would someone buy a 3rd game in the series when they can confinue getting those games on the same system family line they got 1 and 2 on? Only time they chance systems is in exclusive scenarios like when FF switched to PS1 so those fans followed.

Nintendo needs to spend money on new games like Destiny, Watch Dogs, The Crew etc that have a good chance of being hits in the future... to entice 3rd parties to get them on their system. No point next gen going fuck we fucked up. Lets moneyhat the 3-4th game.

Bayonetta 2  is a good example. They did a smart move by addiing number 1. This will automatically give it a better chance of getting a new audience from the still remaining Nintendo only gamers.

Yeah, I don't agree with any of that. Bayonetta 2 isn't going to do well at all. It may do better than most other M games because it's exclusive. That's it. Nintendo paying for multiplats like Destiny, Watch_Dogs, and the Crew is a waste of money. People with buy those games on the systems that already bought for a similar exclusive. You won't ever get the people buying a Wii U for Mario Kart, Smash Bros, and Zelda to buy Destiny, Watch_Dogs, or the Crew.

Destiny, Watch_Dogs, The Crew. Killzone, Infamous, Gran Turismo. Halo, Sunset Overdrive, Forza. Get it now? If Nintendo wants people to start buying AssCreed on their console, they need to start making exclusives that people who like AssCreed would buy a Wii U for first. Nintendo needs to build the audience, not 3rd parties.

Bayonetta 2 is a good start, though. People will buy a Wii U for that. Then maybe Devil's Third won't be the Devil's turd, and they'll by that. Marby Nintendo will make a new similar action franchise. Now the Wii U has an audience for niche M rated quirky japanese action games. Hooray.

I never said Bayonetta will sell great. It just has a better chance of establishing a new audience with 1 packed in then if 2 come out on its own.

Nintendo does not need to build an audience. Did Microsoft or Sony build one when they first come out? No they provided a platform and money hatted for exclusives from 3rd parties to attract the audience.  One company cannot do it all by themselves and why should they when you can use money to do it for you? What is the point of expanding your comany to an uncontrolable size just to cover every genre out there to "establish it". The culture of the company would also change probably for the worst as you get the mature guys vs the everyone entertainment guys infighting.

i play my mature games on my Xbox and PS4. so its fine for me.

PSN: B_U_L_L_D_O_G_G

XBL: BiggBully

Wii: 6629 9857 7201 4139

Certainly can't blame them.

They aren't doing anything by themselves. Making exclusive games isn't the same as speading yourself too thin. If Sony and Microsoft can do it, Nintendo definitely can. And they need to. Sony and Microsoft didn't have an established audience period. They had to moneyhat to literally exist. You think they need to moneyhat anymore to get 3rd parties? They don't and if they never had a single exclusive 3rd party game again, they'd still have the exact same third party support. You think that if Sony decided to anounce tomorrow that they'd only make Sly Cooper, Little Big Planet, and Ratchet & Clank the rest of the generation, that 3rd party m rated games would still be stupported by them? They wouldn't, because they'd be abandoning the audience that buys those games.

And seriously, what genres do Sony and Microsoft NOT have a signifigant exclusive for? And to those genres, how many other games in that genre come to or sell well on that system?

m rated? does that stand for mediocre? the problem is not that mature games dont sell on nintendo systems, ba games dont sell. the wii had some realy brutal games, and they sold okay.
madworld was fucking brutal, and it sold okay for what it was, same goes for games like no more heros.
house of the dead overkill sold a lot better on wii than on ps3.

If they treated mature games on Wii U with the same respect they do on Xbox and PlayStation platforms you might find more interest. I guess it's just easier to not even continue to try.

Fixed, they did an effort with mised result, but nobody cared now they are gone and only the gamers and Nintendo will hurt for it.

Unless of course by some act of magic Watch_Dogs winds up mysteriously selling really well (as in 500k or better) on Wii U. Then they'll suddenly backtrack and change their minds.

I'm not saying that's going to happen. But if it did, that's what they'd do, guaranteed.
