Forums - Nintendo - Hyrule Warriors Pushed Japanese Wii U Software Sales to “Four Times” Amount of Last Year, Hardware Selling Wel

possible 30k hardware?

Around the Network

I think with this Bayonetta and Fatal Frame in September the Wii U could be in a prime position to do very well at the end of the year with Smash and Toad. In Japan of course.

So if you release more software, people will buy more software?

Nintendo finally found their secret recipe.

I'm detecting some sarcasm here: you speak as though Nintendo didn't already know this.

Well if they knew of it before the next question would be why they didn't act upon it earlier.

So we can choose from either ignorant or incompetent. I like the first one. What's your choice?

Game development takes time. Software isn't just gonna spring up out of thin air and during E3, they showed several games in development.

Maybe it's because great new games aren't made in a month and actually need time to be developed?

Nintendo did admit that they struggled with developing for HD tech and it wasn't until towards the end of last year that they felt completely comfortable in that environment. They also had to deal with the fact that no one wanted to buy third party offerings (often gimped versions of big sellers) that would have filled in the gaps between Nintendo's own releases. Which meant third parties ditched the Wii U making the drought worse.

Not possible..maybe 20 k

Incoming musou thread.

4 times? Can't wait to see the actual numbers.

This is only from Tetsuya though right? A single retailer?

I'd be quite thrilled with 20k+ Wii U and hopefully a 100k+ start for the game (that might be asking for too much though).
