| Goatseye said: PS+? How moronic is that to compare a service that offers online support to your games to another that just lets you download games? PSNow- Streams exclusively games to your console for a fee. EA Access- Lets you download exclusively games to your console for a fee. PS+ - a platform that auxiliates softwares to have access to Sony servers and they happen to monthly offer games as bonus. If you take a + out of that it's still gonna be a PSN, instead you wouldn't pay $50 a year for games Sony chooses to give you, without your consent. The only point you made in your statement above is that you're willing to help Sony pay for the servers and not EA. Also, you have no proof that EA uses MS servers for free whatsoever. Do you know if this is a deal for MS to bundle Fifa for free with X1 in Europe? I can speculate also. If this deal is bad, customers will vote with their wallet and condemn EA Access the Origin fate. No biggie. |
Wow buddy, how about you at the very least get your information right. What does PS+ do on PS3 and on Vita, where the online is free? Uhh it gets you games for "free". Also EA Access does not only let you download games, it also has that whole discount thing (incidently PS+ has the same, curious isn't it?), which is actually what EA really wants people to use (you know, buy more games digitally, so EA gets a bigger cut from each game sold) and the early access.
The money EA has to pay MS is what every publisher has to pay the platform holder when they sell a game on their platform, the royalty fee, nothing more. Why the hell would they have to pay MS extra now for using their servers, that makes zero sense. Games that are bought on Xbox Live or PSN are always downloaded through the platform holders servers.
PSNow on the other hand basically gives you the hardware to play your games as well, you don't just get the game and the whole streaming thing means constant costs on Sonys end.
And regarding the bolded: That makes no sense, cause I'm currently not paying for PS+ or PSNow, I'm just sick of people making this retarded comparison between PSNow and EA Access, since it is obviously only made with the console wars in mind.
Mr Khan can kiss my fucking ass. Really all the mods in this piece of shit website. I'm glad moderation occurs because you attack their personal console of choice, regardless of whether or not what you said was 100 percent true. I love feeling like its Nazi fucking Germany and I'm not even allowed to say what I honestly think. Funny how people stealth troll all day long and you don't have a problem with that. All of you are a joke and this "sales tracking website" can't even do that properly. Blow me, I'm out.

I'm giving logical a counterpoint. You'll still have your PS+ which has been declining in quality because most people subscribe for online play, not free games.
The 3rd party subscriptions will appeal directly to consumers that want those 3rd party games.
I like EA Access because people know what they're gonna get when subscribing, a collection of EA games. PS+ is completely random and doesn't necessarily give people what they're looking for.

What is PS+ primary focus for Sony at the moment? Hide the multi-player behind pay wall or offer not so "free" games?
The only real difference between PSNow and EA Access, is that we don't know yet if publishers are going to offer DLCs on PSNow at a discounted price.
EA and Xbox have been a long time partner. What is the clause agreed on MS letting EA use their servers? You don't know. Does it make sense for them to use it for free? No it makes no sense. What would be in it for MS then? There lies the answer for your question.
I don't want to know about the cost of business operation, I want to know the cost transfered by the businesses to me. How Sony and EA offer their services are not my problem.
If you didn't want me to state the bolded part you shouldn't have posted this "retarded" bolded statement:
"If you really can't see how those services are different and how it's completely irrational to expect similar prices from the two, then you must obviously be trying not to see it."
I would like for you to explain why is it "irrational" to expect price similarities between the two, when what you just doing is speculating EA's mo in this case.
Bring facts stating that EA operates EA Vault for free.

LOL. I really want to know who's Alt is this.
It's fine. People can get the publisher package they like best. You'll still be able to buy your own games and keep them if you want, so I don't see what the fuss is about...
Choice is NEVER a bad thing, people.

Awesome. I only usually buy assassin's creed from them a year anyway, not generally at launch either. If it's $40 a year, where do I sign?

Probably $30 and would include all the titles within 1 year of console life.
I feel like this has opened up a can of worms. I'm sure this will result in content being barred off behind paywalls for these danged subscriptions. "Sign up for a year of Ubisoft Access to get exclusive story dlc for next Assassin's Creed".
I know they would do it, too, especially after the mess with the Watch_Dogs preorder content.
