They probably got sick of all the brilliant people on the internet telling them "PS4 only haz remasters durr", so they changed their official stance, in reality the whole remastering thing was always going to be scaled back to the same level it was at in the last gen, it is only done so extensively right now because it's the transitional period.

I remember when my PS1, PS2, and PS3 had nothing but last gen ports and mult generation titles at launch.  Oh wait.  No I don't. 

I hope you also remember when your PS1, PS2 and PS3 games didn't take as long to develop and thus weren't as expensive to make as they are this gen, get over yourself.

Remember games not only updated with shiny new graphics, but improvements in gameplay, bug fixes and new content as well? They're called remakes.

Yeah, I'm against the focus on remasters (remakes if you're Nintendo) all three competitors have at the moment, but it seems to have ended for Nintendo at this point (bar the inevitable MM3D and OR/AS, since I don't believe the remaster for Wii U exists), and will end soon for Microsoft and Sony.

Now, as for the new IPs...

It was Sony that held conferences priding themselves on how easy the PS4 is to develop for, several times easier than the PS2 and PS3.  You make a comment that's completely untrue to put Playstation on this pedestal like all previous gens did this.  When I point it out, you make another untrue apologetic comment.

I think the last will be the Uncharted games before a A Thief's End due to the new audience members they want to buy the final game. If they get some of those converts hooked on the collection and advertise it correctly (a big if for Sony) I could see A Thief's End reaching 10m (keep in mind Uncharted has gained sales every iteration).

Still think they should do an Uncharted remaster to hype up ps4 fans for 4. Like MS is doing with MCC.
