Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft Publishing & Funding Tomb Raider, Similar to Dead Rising 3 Deal

They needed to sell millions of the last one just to make a profit. No telling what costs they were incurring for the sequel and if they needed help or not. MS helping to fund the game makes it pretty apparent this is more than a typical moneyhat deal.

Less, seriously they've got the resources made already, engine and gameplay is done, characters models done (maybe update them a little but still). Why do you think it usually takes game developers 2-3 years to make a game first time around and then they are able to churn out 1 or 2 sequels in about 1-2 years?

Hmm, pie.

PC versions are mostly always superior to console counterparts so the reason to have a PS4 is mainly exclusives.

If this was true they would have stated it clearly. Microsoft never changes and the holy phil spencer is no different from mattrick

So...

I was tricked into clicking on this thread to find this is nothing more an OP's wishful thinking; consciously misinterpreting a typically empty PR-esque response and making up a title that holds no ground.

Apart from the being made up part, suggesting that MS is doing the good deed by funding the sequel to a 6.5 million seller is just laughable. This is not the sequel the the abandoned Bayonetta.

To all those reading this thread, it's made up news, there is nothing new to what Phil has already told Eurogamer and Kotaku. MS does not own the IP or the franchise, they are not co-developing this game and the deal they made has a limited duration. (IGN has SE as the publisher)

This is nothing more that a "console debut" case. But MS wanted it to sound bigger than it was and burnt in terms of fan reaction. Because let me point out once again we are not talking about a small seller or a new IP.

I am also totally disappointed at people gloating at the possibility this deal will keep the game away from the PS4 for good because it is just a spit in the face of the all gamers that helped resurrect this franchise and have an equal share in the success of the reboot.

Congrats to Phil for destroying his hard earned pro gamer image.

So you have a kick-ass PC and don't spend money on a 360 controller (or whatever controller you like)? Also nowadays GPUs have hdmi out so... Why do you even spend money on a kick ass PC?

Im pretty sure that is against the rules (shoot the messenger) but im not going to report you this time.    It isnt me consciosly doing anything.  Its exactly what was said. In fact i never even stated my opinion in the op.  Now if this game eventually makes it to PS, that is awesome for PS only gamers that refuse to play multiple consoles.  I really dont care,  Ill buy it on Xbox but if you refuse to then you can wait for it to come out on PC if you play PC games and maybe even PS if it comes there as well.  I dont care what you get it for to be honest, but drop the insults as im not planning on insulting you

I don't give two fucks on whether it comes to PC or nah. I just want it on PS4.

Unfortunately that looks increasingly unlikely.

Boy you are really personally invested in this game staying exclusive aren't you?

And I find it funny how you ignored my last post which completely proved your theory wrong. Let me go ahead it and repost it for you.
