I suspect that will be the case.

I have a great time with Mario, MK, Smash and Star Fox. But honestly, Zelda is where its at, the true draw for me.

You really should play W101. In terms of missed gems of the generation, it takes the cake.

Shovel Knight is on PC.

Wii U hardware 60% up YoY, nice.

Learn your lesson Nintendo; give people the games they want and they'll buy your system.

Improved momentum?? Huh? Decreased momentum.

It's weekly average dropped in July compared to June. (28k down to 20.7k)

I sense that you are confused. From the NPD thread we learn that Wii U was up about 47% YoY or so after June, now it's up 60% YoY. There is your answer to what they mean, not that complicted really.

Maybe you should take into account that the Wii U didn't start selling It's new basline in the US until later in June, so you shouldn't make any kind of comparisons until August NPD is released.

August will be lower, likely, as nothing comes out this month either.

It's still a more fair comparison than June, since Seece is so focused on Wii U declining.

To be honest I don't know really what's worse

Averaging about 47k a month last year through 7 months with no major releases other than LEGO City and really nothing since NSMBU and Nintendo Land ..

... Or averaging about 75k a month this year with DKC: Tropical Freeze + Mario Kart 8 and the benefit of Mario 3D World, Zelda: WWHD, Pikmin 3, Rayman, Wii Fit U, $299.99 NSMBU bundle, etc. having been released.

They're both pretty horrible scenarios. It's not like Nintendo has 10 other Mario Kart sized franchises just sitting around, after Smash, they've pretty much spent all of their really big guns.

IMO another cartoony styled Zelda with an androgenous looking Link is not going to be a big draw for non-Nintendo hardcore.

Sales were bad last year and still poorly this year. The report of the NPD July confirms the poor performance of the Wii U on the American market.
