I have 6 of 10 Mario Party games, this games are very fun with friends and also fun solo.

Why was the review scores that low for a high selling game? One reason of course is that the reviewers are hardcore gamers, their expectation of games are different from casuals. The other reasons, IMO, are that the graphics are only as good as Gamecube games, it doesn't make much use of motion control and the game is too short, etc. Technical reasons.


Since when have review scores ever been related to sales?

Just took another look at Gamecube sales-
All 4 Mario Parties total: 2.44+2.05+1.56+1.49=7.54M
Mario Kart Double Dash: 6.60M
Super Smash Bros Melee: 6.58M
Super Mario Sunshine: 5.91M

Accordingly, base on extrapolation, if Brawl and Mario Kart can sell 10M each, Wii Mario Parties total can sell 10-15M. With Wii's demographic compared to Gamecube's, they could sell 15-20M. But still, I hope Mario Party 9 will be so good with innovation and motion control that it can sell 10M alone.

Wii - 50%

X360 - 30%

PS3 - 20%

i would like a few more characters--like samus, and mabye a playable bowers--you could have Bleck as the bad guy spots

mario party 8 was the first mario party i play and i've got to say....i loved it. i have no idea why this game receives such hate from gamers and reviewers but obviously you're missing something. i'm guessing it's friends that you're missing cause when me and my friends play this game it's awesome. i tried playing it alone and it was lame. try getting some friends together who are willing to give the game an honest chance and you'll probably love it too.

I enjoyed Mario PArty 8, this game have a particular effect, some of my friends did not liked because of the controllers, but all of their girlfriends liked better than previous editions. SO I end up playing with my friends girlfriends... MP8

My guess is that Mario Party 9 will sell worse than Mario Party 8. I personally wouldn't buy either one. I stopped caring about Mario Party after 6. I mean honestly, has any Mario Party game ever really improved upon it's predecessor? No. It's played out, and the only reason 8 sold so m uch is because it was made by Nintendo for the Wii.

 Then that would be called "Nintendo Party."

OH HELL why haven't they done that??  I guess it'd be a little too goofy with such a mix of characters.
