You must remember that Japan is smaller this gen, so even if they sell more in the US, they are sell less in Japan, and that keeps that percentage down.

PS4 took back USA but also completely dominates Europe (way more so than PS3 ever did), and Japan is lower. I see nothing wrong with that percentage (hell, it's higher now than last gen)

That 3.8 million is just USA, thats not Including the rest of North America & South America.
In addition to Europe there is also Australia, Middle East, Asia.
North & South America-4.5 million
Europe+Australia-4.5 million
Asia+Middle East-1 million
Something like that sounds reasonable to me, give or take a few 100k.

I can probably tell you about my experience the last 10years about gaming in Sweden with half middle-eastern blood and that is: MEA part of EMEA is seriously just ps land, and on the other hand we have the Europe part which is a lot more ps land than Xbox ever was.
I would be surprised when I heard someone had a 360 in my friends circle here in Sweden, I remember that in 2011 55 persons in my class had a ps3 while only 9 including me had a 360.
Another little indication of success at least in Sweden is to look at the bigges t proce comparing site in Sweden and on that site PS4 has bern number one since November even though that top 3 list was always high-end phones/tablets.
So yeah it wouldnt surprise me if 55% was EMEA owned

And when we say it's "taking back the US" we mean how it's holding up to it's competetion. The PS3 was massively outsold by the 360, but now the XBO is being outsold by the PS4. Marketshare wise, the PS4 is doing waaaay better than the PS3. The PS3 had 37% marketshare (in the US), the PS4 currently has 54% marketshare there.
