That journalism though!
Nothing surprising. Just yesterday we have a ridiculous thread about Tomb Raider vs Uncharted.
Anyway, yes, double standards are in each fanbase but with Sony fans is worse. I have had discussions about how their exclusives counts as the best games ever while Nintendo ones, despite developing over hundred, don't count for random reasons as casual or downloadable.
Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever
Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe
Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor
Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile
This right here
Anything Sony does, praise it. Anything bad they do, defend it, justify it or sweep it away. But anything Microsoft does, scrutinise it, and anything bad they do, vilify them further.
Is the article in a nutshell. It can also be applied to fanboys of any type, not just sony.

This!!! If Sony had made the deal everyone would be fine with it, but when Microsoft makes a deal like that then Microsoft ruined the gaming industry!!! |

The One and Only
The outrage came at the smoke and mirrors that it would be completely exclusive and not timed. If they just said it was timed, people would have been upset but it would be a deep sigh rather than uproar.
Sony Fanboys And Their Insufferable Double Standards
I fixed it!
Fanboyism is a plague to the industry that does nothing but create a toxic, unwelcoming community. It's fine to love and prefer a console maker or developer, but the extent that fanboys leap at the opportunity to point out the mistakes/perceived mistakes of the others and how stubbornly they refuse to acknowledge the object of their fanboyism's own mistakes is absolutely ridiculous. If anything, the fanboys should be the ones most critical of their favored company's actions, since they have the most to lose or gain, and they shouldn't need feel validated by the company of their choice being the 'winner'.

I doubt anyone is mad at MS for making the deal... if i were them I would try to... hell I would try to make every single game exclusive to my platform if I could get away with it. Thats business, just MS being MS. What people are upset about, and by people I mean the very people that were responsible for the majority of sales the previous game got.... is that SE took the deal. In chess its called killing a poison pawn. Only person that comes off ok for this is MS (and even that is debatable), SE and the recently rebooted TR IP, not so much. As I have already said in this thread, if anyone finds out they get a game on their platform that person would be happy. And if anyone finds out that they aren't going to get a game that they were expecting to get on their platform... that person wouldn't be happy. How this is so hard to understand is beyond me. I mean come on, just looking at current gen (PS4/XB1), you take a franchise that had almost 4 times more sales on one platform compared to the other, then make the sequel and tell the people that bought it more that they don't get the game (albeit until later) and you expect them to be happy about that? |
That's the thing though. You're wrong. People aren't mad at SE, they are mad at MS! The proof is everywhere! That's what the OP is trying to say.
I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

Just two comments I found quickly in the original thread. PC fans were angry too
The One and Only
the thing is... this mentality is not exclusive to sony fans/supporters/whatever(i still see many cases of ms or nintendo supporters that hate sony like the plague) so... not really getting the point here, well i guess the main point is that generalising to make a point is always retarded or maybe that having emotional attachment to companies is itself retarded (should the gaming industry shut down tomorrow i won't bat an eye because in the grand scheme of things its inconsequential, however, its a nice distraction when time is available, that's my view anyway)

you know BK was sending that out yesterday too and i chose to ignore it. I think what you and others arent realizing is that everybody knows fanboys from every group is annoying. What people are saying is that the reaction wouldnt have been "as bad" as it was if Sony had done it. People arent saying Xbox and Nintendo fans arent bad, we can all agree MSFT and nintendo fans are annoying as well. What people are saying is that Sony fans are the worst. And when i say fans, im talking hardcore fanboys, not a typical fan
With that said this thread really should be locked as its only going to end badly. I see no reason to have this up when all its going to do is cause arguments that will never be settled
