I bought a new Wii U in preperation for the Nintendo exclusives (an 8 GB model that came with NintendoLand, Skylanders AND Mario Kart 8) and I'm planning to buy one of these Remix games. Which one would you suggest?

I'm leaning towards the first one for these reasons:

1. Most of the games used for the challenges are ones that people aren't going to run out and play in 2014 while Remix 2 has timeless classics that you would want to play from beginning to end than get bits of.

2. The difficulty level is higher due to games like Clu Clu Land, Ice Climber and those ancient sports games.

3. More familiar with the older 1983-86 games than the later 1987-94 titles.

Certainly wll buy the other game at a later date as well as Dr. Luigi. What say you?

I'd start with 1. I got hooked, then purchased 2 when it released!

If your from NA, wait till the Holidays, since Nintendo will be releasing both games physically in a disk, sometime during the Holidays.

I'm not going to wait for the disc as these games are small and I also have a USB thumb drive that quadruples my GB. Space isn't a problem. NES Remix and Remix 2 are two of the killer apps that got me to splurge for a Wii U.

hopefully you'll get both so you can unlock Super Luigi Bros (Super Mario Bros played backward)

Yes, it was announced in the San Diego Comic-Con, that the NES Remixes would be getting a retail release in NA.
