No, attach rate in the US has always been higher than elsewhere.

and ps4 sold only about 40% of its installbase in the us, while xbox one sold about 65% of its installbase in the us?

all u guys really belive xbox one attach rate is lower?

and didnt increase form its 2.9 end of march to now, while the hardware sales from april to july were low as hell?

Whats your point ps4 is above 2.9.........and it has DOUBLE t=he install base. Dony you get this despite double the users ps4's atatch rate is on par or better then x1.........it is easy to have a better attach rate with a lower user base. Again where is the proof x1 is above 3 for attach rate or above ps4?

So according to that press release the sales are tracked up until the 10th. That means VGChartz is more like 500k off, not 700k-1m like some are saying. Still awful though.

Anyway, here are some comparisons:
Wii - 13.17 million shipped in 10 months, 11 days
PS4 - 10 million sold in 8 months, 26 days
Wii - 9.27 million shipped in 7 months, 11 days
PS2 - 10.61 million shipped in 1 year, 27 days (not quite fair considering it wasn't out in the US or Europe for about half that time)
Xbox One - 5 million shipped in 4 months, 26 days
Xbox 360 - 5.9 million shipped in 10 months, 8 days
Xbox 360 - 5 million shipped in 7 months, 8 days
PS3 - 5.63 million shipped in 10 months, 19 days
PS3 - 4.32 million shipped in 7 months, 19 days
Wii U - 3.91 million shipped in 10 months, 12 days
Wii U - 3.61 million shipped in 7 months, 12 days

Bets:

1. If the Wii U sells closer to 10 million LTD by 1/3/2015 I win. If it sells closer to 9.5 million LTD by 1/3/2015 OfficerRaichu15 wins (winner gets 2 weeks of avatar control)--Lost.

Sounds about right. Still doesn't tell us which one has a better attach rate overall, although it supports the notion that X1 may have a slightly higher one (but it's really irrelevant since they are close yet PS4 is way ahead in terms of units).

ofc we dont know for sure.

but what is more likely?

xbox one: smaller installbase

xbox one: higher % of installbase in the us, who generally have a higher attach rate than the rest of the world

xbox one: 2.9 attach rate end of march (yeah, yeah probaly only us and not the world. but maybe worldwilde attachrate was even higher. we dont know)

xbox one: abysmal low hardware sales form april to july

that all favours the xbox one to have a higher attachrate than 3 right now.

according to unreliable vgchartz, xbox one had a ~4m installbase end of march

righ now we have about ~ 5m

if microsoft managed to sold just 2.9m units of software from april to end of july the attachrate would still be the same.

3.5m units for a attachrate of 3

all assuming the numbers form here are kind of correct

but i doenst care. there will be a future press realse form ms including attachrate numbers. they just loved it so far this gen. and we will see, whos right

Wow so the wii and PS4 are really close then after all. Wonder what it will look like after this holiday.  Most have underestimated its sales to this poi t so maybe its time for people to readjust what its possible of this holiday. 6-7 mil? plus destiny and the rest of aug sept and oct. Hmmm is 20 mil a possibility! !!!!?

yes ps4 is above 2.9 why do we have to discuss that? i already posted a link.

is it double the install base? where is the proof? we dont know any xbox one sales. like we dont know any xbox one attachrates.

thats what u said the whole time. give a prove (no old data and assuming for now) or it doesnt count...

edit: nvm good bye

you wizard quoter... Nice find. But I think I Said that on about three threads, but people hating on ps4 took it lightly.

Yes I was wrong I admit it, but I also said I would love it to be 10 million as I am a massive Sony fan.

It wasn't aimed at you man =] but yes you were skeptical of my prediction skills... now do you believe PS4 will sell 400+M as I predicted here??

Considering last week they adjusted by 200-300k then they were 700k off (as I said before and were quoted), for this week they were 500k off.

Prinz_valium... have you calculated that Sony attach ratio of 3 is without any free SW and MS have bundled one or two games (mostly for the same MSRP of the box itself)??? So that 3.5 attach ratio doesn't really mean they have a better attach ratio than Sony?
