ms is focusing on theire frew big frist party games and just buy/found other third party exlusives

xbox was never a "huge libary of diversity games" console

but today they want some more exclusiv games. so what to do? found an entirely new studio and ips from the beginning?

Sony; Driveclub, LittleBigPlanet 3...

Microsoft; Forza Horizon 2, Sunset Overdrive, Project Spark, Halo Masterchief Collection...

At the end of the day its the games that count, not whether they are 1st, 2nd or 3rd party. I think more then anything its microsoft admission they really need to compensate from the horrible Xbox One handling and all the good will they lost by abandoning core gamers on the 360 towards the end of last gen

Agreed it's like MS is content with going half way with everything they do when it comes to xbox instead of just fulling investing in it. This idea was a great idea the problem is they got cheap and funded a game that was well recieved but sold poorly. Why not fun a game that is guaranteed to get people attention. Resident Evil, Elder Scrolls, Mass Effect, something that's going to make people take notice and really think about getting an X1. No one is buying an X1 just for TR well not enough people to cover the investment anyways.

Really not understanding the Op point. So are we to believe that Ready at Dawn, Capcom and From Software all third party developers is an admission from Sony that they cannot compete with MS first party studios. You received the same games from Sony pretty much every console cycle just like MS and Nintendo.

In the last 3 years, Sony has dropped 5 1st party studios. Running 1st party studios is not the be all or end all for any of these console makers and it can definitely be a money pit if those studios are not producing hits. At this point in time, MS actually have more 1st party studios then Sony.

So it seems MS Studios is publishing this Tomb Raiders game. Seems like MS is funding development for this game and who is to say it was not pitched to them by CD to both MS and Sony and MS came through just like they did with Titanfall.

Its really funny that gamers continue to wake up and find out that the video game business is a business. A lot of studios get tired of being in the red, wondering if they will have funding to complete a project or even start one up.

I mean it is obvious they could never compete with Sony or Nintendo's first party. Not even close. They are doing what they believe they have to, to survive. Either way it will come to PS4 within a year after Xbox One so who cares?
