Dernebel.

Thats a perfect example of a rabid sony fans way of thinking.

What are the odds that there are NO OTHER GAMES that appeal to a pro sony guy on the xbox one?

That has to be on of the most BS comments that i have ever come across.

Besides, if you can happily part with $400 for a ps4, i see no reason that by the time TR comes out, you would not more than be able to fork out for an xbox one too.

This has to be one of the worst posts I have seen. I mean really "a rabid sony fans way of thinking" that is just uncalled for. The point Dernebel was making is why would you fork out another $400 dollars just to play one or two games? If Sony has more games that interest him AND plays all the multiplats then why go buy a console that doesn't really have much that is of interest to him? He never said that it has NO OTHER GAMES that appeal to a pro sony guy you just pulled that out of then air. So you made that commnet up not him. His commnet makes perfect sense whether you are pro Sony, pro MS or pro Nin.

I see you got banned for this uncalled for post as well thank goodness because that was just not needed at all.

Yep, that makes three of us. It is a solid pick-up for MS, but fan frustration is understandable. Then again, I'm not complaining - I'll be getting the Halo 5 Xbox One just before this launches (unless Quantum Break releases first ), so I'll be all set!

It's not even that solid for MS.  Does TR sell consoles, especially Xbox consoles?

This is a bad deal for MS, bad deal for the fans.  Only SQUARE/CD will be in the money, in exchange for being dicks to their fans.

If it wasn't a system seller before, a good deal of franchise fans will buy an Xbox for it. It won't be a Halo-style seller, but it makes a point for Microsoft - to have a game, exclusive to their machine, from a genre dominated by PlayStation.

I get both sides of this.

I suspect this is a $100 Million+ deal.  Roughly speaking, I think they must sell 1 Million + consoles to break even on such a deal.

There's no way 1 Million people will buy XB1 for TR.

No way this is a $100 millions deal, that's about the cost of the previous TB game, and that was most likely that high because SE/CD is one of those developper who possess the ability to waste large amount of money during the dev process.

Can't even start to wonder how many millions of FF15 SE will need to sell to break even.

But one thing for sure, this deal won't help SE as much as they hope, they seems to have been doing their best to alienate their fanbase those last few years, it's bound to bite them in the *** at some point.

You know what I think is the worst about this exclusive deal?

It brings out the worst of some members from both nation/empire communities

Some people are missing an important fact here. A lot of guys here grew up with Lara Croft on Playstation almost two decades ago. And most of them probably still prefer Playstation today. I can understand that some people really dispise this action.

It's pretty much the same if say Gears of War or Donkey Kong went muliplat this generation, and then became exclusive on PS5.

It's a cheap move and all it accomplishes is pissing of a lot of PS4 gamers.

and the reason for that is because sony paid for it to not be on other platforms

At the bolde so thats the reason it was on  ps1 saturn dreamcast pc etc

only the 1st one was on more then one console

http://www.thefreelibrary.com/Sony+Computer+Entertainment+America+Signs+Exclusive+Deal+with+Eidos...-a019760956

That's because by the time the second game released Playstation was the only console it could release on. Saturn was dead and the Tomb Raider series never releases on N64.

A bit late to the party but here goes...

If it actually is timed, this will do MS nothing good. Just a shitstorm from gamers on both sides.
Neither will it help SE as a brand but maybe they have already made profit before releasing the game.

In all, I don't think this is a good step for Microsoft. It shows that they are desperate and by using the moneytrick you certainly do not get any credit for releasing a good game... timed.

Why go into town while I can buy my pants just around the corner, for double the money.

Funfact: I don't own a PS4 yet, because I'm a university student and can't afford one right now. So excuse me for being such a rabid sony fan and not wanting to fork out another $400 for a couple exclusives.

Also you should have probably read my comment a second time, I never said there would be no other games of interest on the system.

Big question no one is asking. Has halo 5 been delayed? It was supposed to be 2015 holiday flagship game for Xbox One.

Officially timed yes? http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-08-13-microsoft-confirms-rise-of-the-tomb-raider-xbox-exclusivity-deal-has-a-duration

All Hail the Jester King. The King is back, and I am still a dirty girl prof ;)

Haha Thanks MS. Just say it's an exclusive and be as vague as possible in hopes that people just assume it's only coming to Xbox.

Timed makes a lot more sense for SE.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

I'm happy I lived enough to see such thread :D
