DKTF is a near flawless, beast of a game.

MK8 is wonderful.

To be honest, the first 7 games of this list are great.

But yea, I consider MK8 (and Child of Light) better than Shovel Knight and Guacamelee. Than again, that's just my personal taste.

Nah, it got hit hard for being a 2D platformer. They don't get enough recognition these days, especially not when they're not indies.


Well I am thinking to the IGN stuff on it, for example, where they complained about the difficulty of the game.

Heck I'm surprised that Shovel Knight scored as it did. The game is high tier in terms of presentation, control, and even the through-gameplay-story, very much like a Dark Souls platformer. I would easily rate that above Guacamelee even if said game is certainly fun, its just not much in the way of challenge.

True, but the diffuculty sure didnt help. Gamespot gave it a freakinh 6 out of 10 for it.

Either way, it hurts the overall aggregate score... and for a dumb reason like "its hard".
