Forums - Sony - Should there be another God of War?

If Cory Barlog is directing then yes I am down for another God Of War there a lot more stories to be told whether it be a prequel or a sequel. For a prequel maybe we play as young Kratos in his prime as the general of the Spartan army where we could command them and conquer territories/city states something with some cool rts elements. and engage in huge wars. Furthermore for a sequel it should take place where it left off and have Kratos take on Chaos and defeat the evil forces that would eventually take over after Olympians have been dethroned and kill the evil Athena imposter. I mean its a work of fiction after all we could have the Persians launch another take on Greece and with the gods gone it would be his duty to stop them from taking over and enslaving everyone all the while battling all the Persian gods maybe Kratos VS the Persian Empire.

Mythology of the American indigenous peoples would be great.  However, they were not patricularly violent until Europeans arrived, so it could be a bland gameplay until about 1700ce.

it would depend on the pantheon of gods/spirits you had to work with.

As to violence their was lots of tribal warfare before european settlement  , the arrival of escaped horses from mexico in the 15th century  allowed the tribes to conquer the tyranny of distance  and tribal warfare as a way of life escalated.

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

yes (maybe perhaps another mythology, would like an ares one on the other hand), is this a real question or just seeing if others agree with the right answer?

EDIT: perhaps it could be when the gods were rebelling against the titans for the first time.

Spiritual successor: yes
sequel to GOW 3: nope
i guess they should make ancient Rome stories with Julius Caesar as a protagonist.
or Aztec civilizations if they wanna explore outside Europe.
Japan and China doesn't need anymore games for them (yes i'm looking at you two; Samurai Warriors and Dynasty Warriors!)

Aztec or Inca mythology would be pretty cool.

Yes, it's one of my favorite franchises ever. As long as they change up the mythology I would love a GOW4.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Like some have said, I think they should continue the series with another main character and different setting/mythology, imo GoW 3 ending was perfect for Kratos (I loved the ending he he).

EDIT: Spoilers Even though the game kinda tries to suggest that Kratos didn't die I think another main character or at least another mythology would be refreshing to this series.

I'd like to see new mythology or SSM just make a new IP.

Keep the name. Have a new character and Gods. Norse mythology but with similar themes (a guy getting betrayed by one of the Gods or all of them and looking to take them down) would be epic and it could use some of the hype of the Thor movies franchise (increased brand awareness for commercials) to get even more financial success. The thought of bashing Thor, Loki, Odin, Baldur, The serpent, frost giants, dark elves, and so many more's heads in on PS4 (think of the scale they achieved on PS3) makes me drool

Dark elves don't actually exist in the Norse mythology but there is quite a few massive creatures there, including a serpent that wraps all around the earth. Killing that, that would have to be badass beyond my imagination.
