Read the whole Alan Wake article. There were early screenshots and gameplay footage taken in native 720p. It was also pointed out that different graphical components ran at seperate resolutions and "combined" to form a 720p image. They didn't brag like Sony did, but they certainly had Eurogamer (and possibly other sites) fooled.
