Oddly enough learned about this game few days ago on Game Informer Replay show as it was the roulette after Clock Tower.

It is getting more attention because the producers of BloodBorne mentioned it as a throwback to their design ,or something like that (don't quote me on it)

I love the aspect of multiculturism in those games, every area was different because it took from cultural urban mythology from that area and turned it into a level

That is one of two games Id buy anything to own if they released a sequel/prequel/remake (other being Suikoden).

I played through the 3 Shadow Hearts games again recently, loved it.

That said "Shadow Tower" was just plain awesome and I agree with you on the bridge between King's Field and the Souls games.
