Shadow Tower is Widely overlooked King's field sequel and predecessor to Demon's Souls

I love the aspect of multiculturism in those games, every area was different because it took from cultural urban mythology from that area and turned it into a level

That is one of two games Id buy anything to own if they released a sequel/prequel/remake (other being Suikoden).

I played through the 3 Shadow Hearts games again recently, loved it.

That said  "Shadow Tower" was just plain awesome and I agree with you on the bridge between King's Field and the Souls games.
