Forums - Gaming - Shadow Tower is Widely overlooked King's field sequel and predecessor to Demon's Souls

This thread has no purpose than to show you this game that came out after King's Field , you can see the inspiration to the Souls series more clearly from this than Kings Field, and its pretty nice game too

I think the producers said that they're going to be taking some aspects of this game and revive them on Bloodborne, I wonder which ones?

I always wanted to play these games but... I dunno i just lacked the motivation/time. I will play it someday though!

A very cool thing is the box art of the game, it feels inviting.

Wow, it's like a mix between Shadow Hearts and Pandora's Tower!
Not really... but cool game esp. for the PS1.

Its a shame I remember seeing this but didn't buy it because I could only get one game a month or so and I thought "I already have Silent hill"

How much would I give to make a new Shadow Hearts.

I love the aspect of multiculturism in those games, every area was different because it took from cultural urban mythology from that area and turned it into a level

Looks interesting but I probably couldn't play it. We've come to far.

4 ≈ One

interesting.

obviously a massive downgrade in graphics. also has a pretty massive downgrade in the complexity of the combat and the complexity of the baddies. still,.. you can see the core ideas in it for sure.

Oddly enough learned about this game few days ago on Game Informer Replay show as it was the roulette after Clock Tower.

I never understood why Demon's Souls is considered the spiritual succesor of King's Field. I struggle to see the similarities xD

the difficulty aspect, but because the original designer wanted to create a "spiritual sucessor" to KF and asked From software to help make it.

the original designer is from SCEJ.
