*breathes a sigh of relief*
I find this whole experiment relatively confusing, since it seems like prime bait for the mafia (on the chance that this daytalk ability is a real thing and they're actively conspiring right now), easy for them to manipulate.
I think i'm going to sit this one out and go with my anti-Cone gut instinct (and loose flavor-post data, since i'm more interested in the roleplay side than the detective side of this all anyway).
Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

If there is daytime killing (in opposition to lynching) I have no power over that. @hylian. Yep, but I have until day's end to change my target. After day's end, it's over for my ability. |
No, you don't. You triggered your ability. It's going to save the lynchee from being lynched. What point would there be to giving you a choice of target? The target is already specified; it's the lynchee.
I think you probably misunderstood that part. Might wanna check it with Words of Wisdom to make sure.
Sparks, you're keeping track, what's the vote count?

I already did. |
So let me get this straight. You triggered your ability, which is to save a person from getting lynched. But also, you get to choose which person you want saved? How does that make sense? This other person who you choose that's different from the top voted player, umm, what are you saving them from, exactly?
Somebody please tell me I'm not crazy.
padib said: @Smeags. Your move is basically tantamount to deferring to day 2 and playing a no lynch. It doesn't give you any information on my alignment. Remember what you said about that? Mafia governor is very possible especially in a multi-faction game. |
Right now it's
5 RCT
4 Outlaw
3 Cone
RCT is still up to by lynched.
Wright and Khan aren't budging an inch on their Cone vote.
Prof, Sparks, and Truck aren't budging on their Outlaw vote.
Not too sure about those who are voting for RCT, but we'll see.
Alright... Ive been going back and forth...litterally passingback and forth looking at notes scrawled on a pad of paper and looking back at tabs and arguments. I have trust in Padib, and I think he's been right about a lot so far. I know there is reason to suspect outlaw. I was hoping for am uch stronger case. I still believe RCT is still a strong case and I hope you all consider voting for him tom. I'm already going to suspect you guys a lot for this circus you've put me through. Again I'm not taking this descision lightly and I don't want to flip flop again or jump on a bandwagon. I do have suspicion for outlaw, not as much as RCT. I also have trust in Padib so I want to do what I can to prove he is telling the truth, if nothing else than to have you guys ear crow. Tomorrow I expect you all to seriously consider RCT because he is our strongest Mafia lead.

All Hail the Jester King. The King is back, and I am still a dirty girl prof ;)

It's not good because it only confirms that I didn't lie. It doesn't confirm that I am town, nor does it confirm that outlaw is town. If I'm bluffing you risk killing a townie. I'd avoid that move. |
Working through the angles, it seems to be the best move actually. You've already burnt your ability, with only the target left to decide. If you're honest and protect outlaw, outlaw lives and your alignment is as close to proven as we're going to get, since I sincerely doubt WoW is going to have scum get the power to prevent a lynch; there are games where that's possible, but I think it's fair to say it's highly irregular and frowned upon, so I doubt we're going to see such a situation here. Thus, either the runner up gets lynched (RCT, which in this case is fine by me), or no one is, but at least we've cleared one player. On the whole, a net positive.
By contrast, no other move gets us as much useful information. Voting RCT, who I assume you won't choose to protect, results in just a lynch, with no other player's alignment being as directly clarified as in the situation above. And if you do choose to protect RCT, it would still tell us a lot about your alignment, but it runs the risk that the runner up gets lynched instead, which is likely to be outlaw, and thus not what you want.
I'm open to suggestions, but playing through all the scenarios, it makes sense for me to
