damn no love for dem cowboys in the new york media; New York Post calls it "Justice" Daily News has the title : "How about dem Refs"

also 30 min to first take: dis gon b good!!!!

Apparently, Manning has a torn right Quad and has been playing on it now for a Month.

Well, no hate or whining from me. My home team, who hasn't really had much success at all since the 90s, outperformed expectations significantly through the year and into the postseason.

They had a legitimate shot in GB, reception or no reception. A few bad breaks and bounces, and a few strategic errors really determined the outcome in the end. Even if Dez gets that TD and they get a 2pt, there are still 4 minutes left, and the Dallas D I think had already run out of gas. Perhaps the TD would have energized them a bit for one last push, but we can never know. All I know is they got a ton of disrespect and even outright hate through the year from many, and really put on a great show overall. When their plane arrived back in Dallas, a huge contingent of fans showed up to support them and say thanks for a really fun year.

NFC East should be more competitive next year. I expect NYG to improve a lot in consistency, and PHI can be a dangerous team with a few tweaks. I think Chip needs to learn to slow things down sometimes for his strategic advantage, and for the sake of his defense. The constant rush just results in constantly having your defense on the field even if you're ahead and should be trying to take time off the clock and rest your guys. More snaps = more exposure to potential injuries, and a defense that will get incredibly worn in the latter part of the season, which we saw pretty clearly.

For the remaining games, I think Seattle has to be a massive favorite to repeat. I don't really mind that, Wilson is a great human being and despite winning it all last year they are not a city that's seen a lot of success with championships, so a back to back Lombardi is well earned. I think Carroll is a solid coach, that team had a ton of turnover both on the field and on the sidelines, so it's a great job whipping them back into a top performer and weathering the uncertainty that people had about them at 3-3 early on.

The Patriots are another fundamentally solid, well-coached team. If they won it all I doubt anyone would be shocked.

GB is a fantastic home team that I don't feel confident can go on the road to Seattle and play to a physical enough level to legitimately threaten them. They just haven't traveled well this year. If the game was in GB I'd give them respectable odds, but the year has shown us that they are probably going to get mauled up there. I think Luck has a better shot at shocking the Pats than GB has of surviving the LOB. GB also showed some mental lapses during the Dallas game that spell trouble. There were a couple of WAY late hits on Romo that didn't draw flags, but were flagrant. If that happens a couple of times in the Seattle game, it WILL be called, and those 15-yard penalties can doom a team pretty quickly.

Calling the rest of the games :

Pats over Indy 38-24
Hawks over GB 27-13

Hawks over Pats 24-19 (yes, FOUR Pats FGs, lol).

GB is going to win because Lacy will be beasting, rushing for 125 yards and two TDs.

Lacy hasnt done well against top 10 run defenses all year...he killed me in my fantasy league for most of the season...

I see.

Actually, I don't know what that is. Let me look it up.

EDIT: That's the thigh thing we more or less knew about already. While that is limiting the ability to step into throws, PWM's accuracy was lacking on short throws as well, so I don't think that injury explains it all. Also, he wasn't willing to commit to playing another season after yesterday's loss, so he may very well know that there's more amiss than just his thigh.

Yeah, I'm not sure it does, either, because he actually overthrew a couple of those deep balls.  And let's be honest here, he was also aided by several of his receivers dropping absolutely catchable passes (Thomas dropped like 3 or 4 straight iirc).  So, it wasn't just Peyton who was having issues last night.  Either way, if the thigh is the issue, I hope it heals and he can come back and retire on his own terms.  If it's more than just the thigh, well, I hope the same.  Even though I like taking jabs at his playoff record, the dude is absolutely a great QB, and you really don't see guys like Manning (or Brady) etc... come along very often.

He saved his best for last.

By the way, how can you even be a Seahawks fan? They have like the worst team colors in any sport, only rivaled by US Palermo.

Psh, seahawk colors are awesome!  Seahawks have more character than pretty much every other sports team combined, which is way more important anyway.

P.S. fuck the Broncos. Chocoloco, I blame you personally. You wish you were a Raiders fan!

This about the only post in here worth responding to and made me smile.

That stated, I am a Broncos fan first and not a Denver Peytons fan like it is portrayed in the media and in forums. Manning has one more year to prove himself as a worthy Bronco. Cutting him would be too much lost dead money for the Broncos. They will treat him like a starter unless he performs horribly in the training camps and preseason. Brock Osweiler will be a top priority for Denver to sign because Manning did not perform well in the latter part of the season.

Ethier way, one home playoff game and Peyton playing QB equals Bronco profit. I doubt they will give up one more year of that whole package as a possibility. This all is pending more on what John Elway decides to do. He chooses the team in the end. The bigger question to the Broncos right now concerns firing, or keeping John Fox as head coach.

I just read that Rex Ryan is the new head coach of the Buffalo Bills. A mismatch made in hell, I think. Ryan had problems in New York because he lacked a consistent QB, the situation is exactly the same at his new club.

And no first round pick to remedy the situation either... I see the bills going after somebodies back up qb during the summer... And another crap season for Ryan... But maybe he will be able to pick up a franchise quarterback in the next draft with a top pick...

Wow can't believe he was playing with a torn quad. No wonder he's been dog shit the last chunk of the season and yesterday. Part of me is impressed by his toughness, another part questions the front office for not resting him down the stretch. What good is a bye week if he can barely throw the ball anyway? I guess this explains their commitment to the run down the stretch as well.

They better make some big changes in the coach department. I wouldn't mind seeing both Fox and JDR shown the exit.
