Wow can't believe he was playing with a torn quad. No wonder he's been dog shit the last chunk of the season and yesterday. Part of me is impressed by his toughness, another part questions the front office for not resting him down the stretch. What good is a bye week if he can barely throw the ball anyway? I guess this explains their commitment to the run down the stretch as well.

They better make some big changes in the coach department. I wouldn't mind seeing both Fox and JDR shown the exit.

Bronco's say strained, not torn.

Most articles say torn so of course he is writing that. Funny you are more interested in Peyton than the Patriots.

Why wouldn't I be more interested in Peyton?  His future is currently uncertain and he's one of the best QB's to ever play the game?  If his issues late in the season were due to injury, then it could mean he could see the field again.

If it were a full torn quad, he would not have come back into the Chargers game, and probably been out the rest of the season.  Pats had a player go down with a torn Quad (I think it was Andre Carter) and he was lost for the season.

Teams typically downplay injuries. I could see the Broncos downplaying the injury to avoid anyone questioning why they didn't bench him, as well as potentially avoiding injury report trouble from the NFL.

Schefter is typically pretty spot-on with his sources and according to him it was a torn rectus femoris. Which, idk, seems even worse to me.

Either way it's semantics. We can all see the huge drop off in his play from the Chargers game and on. Whatever it was, whether it was sprained or strained and bruised or torn, he was never the same.

Uhhh.... the articles I quoted say exactly what you quoted. My point still stands you are still focusing on Peyton and not the Patriots.

True dat, even though I root for the Pats, I generally prefer to see players go out on their own terms, so hopefully he's got more left in him.

Your point is irrelevant, and I could give a shit, especially given the photos of Brady and Gronk you've posted in here.  So, the words tough shit, come to mind :D

Fair enough. I thought of Gronk's ass as a compliment actually. Ravens face to the ass.

Maybe, but you can't deny that you haven't taken your shots on the Patriots.  I'm not at war with Manning, or anyone here.  I poke some fun here and there, but I don't think it's stepping over any lines.  And I think most of my comments in here have been serious football related (and yes, mostly about the Patriots).

But, seriously, if the tear/partial tear/strain etc... is indeed the reason for his dropoff (I was thinking maybe he needed that obligatory year that allot of players who miss a year need, to get the dexterity in his arm back up to full season+postseason form...then again, he did go late into the post-season last year...so I guess that's a dumb assumption on my part), then it shouldn't mean he's done.  And as I said to LudicrousSpeed, I generally prefer to see any athlete go out on their own terms, rather than be forced into retirement due to injury or whatever.  And for players like Manning, Brady, Rodgers, etc... you know, the extremely rare specimens (Like MJ, or Bird, or Orr, or Phelps etc...), I think everyone wants to see them play/compete as long as they have that desire.  They're just capable of remarkable things.

Most of what I post was a small attempt to spicen up a thread that is mostly about posting predictions and nothing more. You should try NFL GAF. The pictures I post are almost all posted there first, or somewhere else first.  Shots are taken at every team that is not yours there. That is what I am used to in forums. This one usually goes a drier less trash talking route.
