I just wanted to take a moment to applaud the mods of this site. The last few threads  ive read, they have been spot on withthere moderation. I dont always applaud mods but when I do I slow clap for smeags. ( someone better than me at this stuff insert slow clap gif please)

 - So how is the jump from 360 to X1? We seen a HUGE leap in computing power about around the same time the PS3 and X360 came out though man... I mean PC's were just switching over to dual cores that was a pretty big shift. We have seen advancements sure, but computing hardware has more legs than it once did. I remember buying my first PC back in '94 and litterally was out of date 5 months later, I could not run the latest and greatest games.  I sold a PC I built in '09 and it still plays the latest games sure not at max settings but it least it can. You have to take stuff like this into account... Thinking it's as cut and dry as you say it is does not make it so. I Notice a difference in PS4 games, Infamous looks fantastic! No way could that have been done exactly like that on a PS3! TLoU also looks MUCH better then the PS3 version and that looked fantastic to begin with! There is a difference, but it takes time to learn the hardware.  Nobody has patience anymore! You have this very vocal minority making it sound like EVERYONE has this opinion but that is not the case.  

- You will rarley see people that like something say anything, if people don't like something they will piss and moan this gives off an illousion that everyone has the opinion of the people that piss and moan. This again is NOT the case. Software is moving a hell of a lot better on the PS4 then it is on the XB1, people can't be to unhappy.  It's great having a PS4 and to have all these indies to pick from while we wait for AAA games. We really don't have a droubt on the PS4 as we always have something good to play.  

- Sony has the better first party games (compared to MS) IMO! It saved there ass when the PS3 was sputtering out of the gates and lost exclusive's right left and centre! They have STRONG first party support and the fact that you can't get them anywhere but a Sony console makes the console just that more attractive. It's hard to not see that as they are killing MS right now in both hardware sales and software sales.  Again if MS was able to actually retain there exclusives I probably would have a XB1 right now, but as many are going to PC I don't have enough sofware to justify a purchase of the X1. Again I am sure I am not the only one.

 


1) Doesn't matter how much work went into a port. A port is a port. What new gameplay mechanics were added directly to the game that sets it apart from the PS3 version? When you look at comparison footage between the PS4 and the PS3 versions of this game, the changes are so minute, that you have to focus to notice any changes. The changes are so subtle that they're practically invisible to the layman. 

2) I'm not too sure what your point is here. Are you trying to say that Moore's Law has somehow slowed down for computers this generation? Is that why the PS4 doesn't have such a noticeable graphical leap from the previous generation? Keep in mind that the PS4 was given much cheaper parts this generation than any generation before. This was so Sony could save money. The PS4 was also modeled after the x86 architecture. There's so many things this generation that both Microsoft and Sony did that would prevent anyone from seeing a huge graphical leap from their consoles. I highly doubt Moore's Law has anything to do with it.

3) I think it's a bit difficult for you to defend this. I'm quite sure you weren't expecting Sony to suddenly start going after indies and leave AAA 3rd parties by the wayside. I certainly wasn't expecting it, that's for sure. Many of Sony's indie games are on the Wii U and the 3DS. Both of those systems appear to be cheaper alternatives to the PS4. You can't get upset because the Sony fanbase are a little bit upset over the fact that they invested $400.00 into a system that isn't giving them what they were hyped up to expect.

4) ** shrugs **. Nintendo has the better first party games (compared to Sony) IMO!

Then he has the audacity arguing semantics when the ps4 is the most capable next gen console currently available while assuming somehow console gamers are envious of RTS, MOBAs, and MMOs... All starting with an argument about TLOUR being anti consumerism, ps4 owners being disappointed with and influx of indies and even more disappointed in less emphasis of AAA on a gen cycle less than a year in..

Lets try reversing your statement and see if you agree with the following:

You believe that the PS4 is the most capable next-gen console currently available, and that console gamers are not envious of RTS, MOBA and MMO games such as LoL, Dota 2, WoW, Guild Wars 2 and etc. You don't believe what Sony is doing with TLoU is anti-consumer, but in fact, would like to see more previous generation games remasted on the PS4. You also don't believe PS4 owners are disappointed with the influx of indie titles - but in fact, are very excited about more indie titles (ala PS Vita). You also believe that having fewer AAA games a year this gen is perfectly fine.

Does the above paragraph seem correct?

2.  how many RTS, MOBAs, and MMOs show up on consoles?  hardly any.. has it bothered before? nope.  can we still play them?  yes.. on pcs.. where they belong.  derp derp derp.. i also own a gaming pc..

3.  there you go overgeneralizing again.  1 remaster, and already, Sony can't wait to release a huge catalog of last gen games repolished for new gen because you say so... got it.

4.  you talk about the disappointment of gamers due to the influx of indies on the playstation platform, yet your only "source" is a 2 page thread on ign.  as for the vita, exclusives are still coming.  you're forgetting playstation currently supports 2 consoles and 1 handheld.  if your argument is the Vita, the Vita will still get its games.. no different from any other Playstation device in the past, now, or the future.  strawman much?
