But what's different with porting a Halo 1 - 4 Collection to PC? They would be an afterthought, too. The newest of them is now almost 21 months old.

Alan Wake PC was also released 21 months after the 360-version.

Because the MCC is MUCH more appealing than Alan Wake could ever hope to be. Microsoft has not released a big AAA game in years, let alone four main games out of their biggest franchise at once. I doubt it happens any time soon, if at all.

That's certainly subjective, though. I'd rather take Alan Wake over Halo any day of the week.

It is subjective, you are right. The way I meant it is Halo is many times the system seller than Alan Wake is. Halo is almost synomnymous with Xbox at this point, it is the major seller and trump card Microsoft has.

It's hard picturing them bringing the franchise back to PC and risking Xbox sales. Not impossible, true, but stll hard.

If Halo comes to PC, Xbox One is officially worthless.

So, that means  games like Sunset Overdrive and Scalebound don't exist anymore?

EDIT: Also, this listing doesn't necessary mean that Halo 5 will also come out for PC..

He is right. He mentioned "if". That "if" makes his comment precise.

There is no "if." Halo is already on PC.

While Sunset Overdrive looks great and Scalebound is develped by the stellar PlatinumGames, these are both new IP's.  We don't know if they'll even be good, let alone sell well.  In Scalebounds case, unless MS is producing, it might not stay exclusive.

This listing is probably bunk but my statement remains.  If Halo - MCC or 5 - are on PC at any time, the XB1 has no real worth.  If Mario/Smash Bros or Zelda games were on PC, would you say "The Wii U has worth because of Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful 101"?  Sure they're great games but no one's dropping 300+ buckos down for them.

That would be nice. I don't like playing FPS's on consoles.

This could actually help the X1 if handled right. Release the MCC on PC 6-8 months after it comes out on the X1 (so it won't hurt the console sales) and you could get a number of PC gamers really into Halo. These PC gamers would then buy an X1 for Halo 5 (or just whine).

No. We'd be happy to play the games. I love the Red VS Blue Series. I have Halo 1 PC(2 has GFWL so pass). I don't want to buy a Xbox for one game series. Everything else I want is on Sony and Nintendo. Having at least all the past games ported to PC will make me able to play those games. Any other way won't give my money to Microsoft. And Bungie still cares about PC fans. They recently repaired 10 year old bugs that gearbox missed and patched out the Gamespy server list. So it reads all servers on Halo 1.

I don't think MCC going PC would be a big deal to Xbone at all. For starters it would probably happen well after the Xbone release. Secondly as someone else said, the impact PC versions of games have on console sales is minimal at best. You might get a small amount of people who would just buy the game on PC instead of maybe getting an Xbone to play it, but for the most part people wouldn't care, just like they don't care right now.

Lastly it's not like Halo 5 would be going over or anything.

Well last time was Halo 2 in 2007 (?). After that MS seems to get the message that mainline Halo games are better off exclusive. If this is timed exclusive, i'd give it a year, until Halo 5 comes out. That way whoever would buy it for X1, has allready done so. They are all old games after all, that have allready sold plenty 360's in their own rights. Nm, I am ok with this one. It isn't like Halo 5 is going to PC.

If by better off exclusive you mean sold like shit because it was a several year old port exclusive to a new OS that no one wanted with multiplayer locked behind XBL gold which no one on PC was willing to pay for (which they quickly gave up on) then sure. Of course there is entirely new management now so none of that matters. The new management seems to be paying lip service at least to being serious about investing in PC gaming. Which tho MS have said the same thing every couple years since the Xbox was announced, the current management does seem to be making some small steps. This coming over plus that " AAA strategy game in a well-loved franchise" they were hiering for would be a good sign that Phil isn't a lier like his predecesors and I think they could use all the good PR they can get right now. PC gamers can be a disproportiantly vocal bunch and getting them onside can help generate positive word of mouth that would help their brand more than having the games available on PC hurts them IMO. A lot of the leading youtube and twitch personalities are primarily PC gamers after all.

I doubt they would port Halo 5 any time soon tho. I would guess they would leave that until at least 6 months after all the DLC is out if ever.

Seems odd they invest in PC gaming at all. Not like PC gamers identify themselves under the MS banner. Ironically PS fans identify with PC more then Xbox fans do. Just seems like Halo on PC hurts the Xbox brand above all else.

With your logic the PS3 and 360 should have been less popular because CoD was on PC.

Many popular PS3 and 360 games were on PC. Exclusives aren't the primary reason people buy a console.

The best selling games on PS4 and X1 are on PC as well.

You're correct and I understand what you're saying.  However my point is if there's no exclusive Halo, what reason is there to own a XB1?  If you already have a gaming PC but you want in on that new Killzone and Infamos and Uncharted, you go get a PS4.  You also want some next-gen Destiny action, you've got a PS4.  But then Halo is coming and you want Halo... you've got a PC already.

Do you see what I mean?  There's no "reason" to drop $400 for Halo 5 ... if you can already play Halo 5.

"You should be banned. Youre clearly flaming the president and even his brother who you know nothing about. Dont be such a partisan hack"

I'm not gonna drop $400 dollars no matter what. No matter how much I like Halo. I'm not buying a system for one game. But I will get it on PC. They won't get me to buy a X1 regardless if I get Halo on PC or not.

Well for one it allows them to sell more copies of their games by being on more platforms. And increases the word of mouth from more people playing games in their IPs. But also there is the recent push for Linux gaming which is a direct threat (a small one but with Windows being threatened by the shift to mobile not one they can afford to ignore) to windows home marketshare. Having more games that are exclusive to Windows is a good way of keeping Windows as the defacto PC gaming OS. Windows and assosiated apps and services are worth way more to MS than Xbox will ever be.

The simple answer is most people interested in a X1 don't have a gaming PC, its a very different market. People out of touch with the average consumer forget that.

Anyhow, Halo:MCC coming to PC doesn't mean Halo 5 would come to PC anytime soon. Halo 1 and 2 came PC, but where is 3?
