Forums - Nintendo - Wind Waker HD: Mixed thoughts

I never understood Zelda fans complains about the games being easy...with the exception of the first 2 Zeldas (which imo the first one is more about the "where the hell do I go?" kind of difficulty rather than "real" challenge) and maybe the last couple of games which have added a Hero Mode, ALL games in the series are very easy to beat.

They are not a cake walk but they are not hard or challenging games at all, neither in combat nor puzzles.

I don't think it's really "hard" for people. The Zelda games usually have one annyoing part in the game. Where you get confused. And some people don't want to read a gamefaqs. So they try, get pissed and then give up and mark the game as hard.

I don't understand why people say the story of Wind Waker is awesome if it lacks depth and more character development. In this case, it's just an excuse to advance throughout the game. But Zelda is like that, so I don't complain that much.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Why do you think its so bad?

I have no idea how anyone would find it impossible to finish the game, let alone the Triforce quest, without a guide. I managed to do so quite easily, even in the original over a decade ago, when it was much less streamlined.
Confusing, maybe, but impossible? Not by a long shot.

Wait, you call the game incredibly easy then go on to say how you cannot beat it without a walkthrough FAQ. Isn't that the definition of hypocrisy?

There's a differance between monotonous time wasting filler and actual challenging gameplay and you know it.

It was my favorite 3d Zelda and yes I had to use a guide on the triforce quest as well. That was really the only negative though I loved the combat, bosses, dungeons, and LENGTH! Sometimes Zelda would just run too damn long especially Twilight Princess which gave you fetch after fetch right at the end for hours on end. Wind Waker is my favorite because it avoids the annoyances of previous ones.

Start a new playthrough, and give Bait to the fish on every island as you go. It helps A LOT.

Tip: The fish doesn't appear on the island where the Tower of the Gods until after it appears. It's the island with a bunch of Tornadoes.

I love the game but yeah I hated the tryforce quest. WW is the easiest of the 3D Zelda games. they finely stepped it up with SS though

there has to be something that bugs me with all games after OoT. TT had the wolf part, MM had the time thing, SS had the hub world thing :P

and yeah it is the worst of the 3D Zeldas

I sure hope Zelda U doesn't have something new that bugs me

oh, didn't you enjoy the story? the Zelda WW has the best intro in zelda games, i really liked this one, i didnt play the original, but i loved the HD version.
